Re: FreeCad on Jessie

That's good to know but it doesn't help with Stella though :( It still opens in a software mode that is too slow to be useful.

Re: Jessie - Config Files Open in Libre Office Writer.

FYI on my Jessie installation .txt and .conf files appear to be linked to Leafpad I have installed Jessie several times in the past few weeks from the image provided on this site and .txt and .conf files are always defaulting to Libre Writer, so I have had to change the file association. I never ha...

Make an image of the existing SD card and then write it to the new one?

Install C64 Emulator in Jessie

Hi

A while back I managed to succesfully install the VICE C64 emulator under Wheezy.

I am now running Jessie and would like to install it again but I can't find the instructions to how to do this. Could anyone please help (I can't remember how I did it last time) ?

Many thanks.

Re: Lost network connection after apt-get update/upgrade

No that doesn't work here :-( Do you get a list of wifi networks if you left click the network icon? If not what is the wifi adapter you use? MrEngman No I don't get any list. I use an Edimax adaptor which was recommended on these forums and never had any trouble previously (Wheezy or Jessie) until...

Lost network connection after apt-get update/upgrade

I have been running Jessie since it was released, and while I had a few problems at first I sorted most of them from kind people on this forum. Tonight (Oct 23) I did an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and I lost my wireless network connection (The connection icon shows eth0: Link is down wlan0: ...

Re: FreeCad on Jessie

There seem to be a few reported applications that worked with Wheezy but give OpenGL(ES) problems with Jessie.

e.g. Atari Stella Emulator, OpenArena. I think I have read of some others also.

Would be nice to know what is wrong.

Re: mounting NAS under Jessie

Right click on the desktop and select "Desktop Preferences" Click on the "Desktop Icons" tab. Remove the check from "Show connected volumes on the desktop". But that makes them both disappear. I want it there, just not two of them! It only showed one under Wheezy. They are different icons too. Capt...

This solution also worked for me, however I now get two copies of the network folder on my desktop instead of the usual one. Both of them work, but it is annoying!

Thanks Dom ,noauto,x-systemd.automount This worked for me too. Only 'problem' is that the mounted volume appears twice on my desktop (using different icons). It only used to appear once. Both of them work. Any idea how to remove one of them? https://www.dropbox.com/s/jxuatpx7t6ocf82/Pi_volumes.png?r...

Re: Stella Atari Emulator in Jessie

Thanks for this tvjon. I haven't had time to try it yet but will do over the next few days.
I briefly tried it under the GUI, but just an outline window appeared so presumably it's not meant to be used under X.
It always worked under the GUI in Wheezy ...

Stella Atari Emulator in Jessie

Hi I am unable to get the Stella emulator working in the new Jessie image. I installed it as I used to under Wheezy sudo apt-get install stella but it will not start. The window flickers a bit and then it closes. It is possible to start it with stella -video software but it is too slow to be of any ...

Jessie and XRDP

Hi I use XRDP to connect remotely to my Pi from a Windows machine. I have used this for a long time with no problems under Wheezy. It also works fine with Jessie, except the mouse pointer now displays as a cross which is really annoying (see attached image) https://www.dropbox.com/s/uuw43jpdyqnpo2q/...

I am very interested in showing of how Avogadro runs on the Pi to my science students, but it appears not to run (OpenGL not supported error) in Jessie. I also got that in Wheezy for the first year or two, but some wonderful update fixed that. When might I expect such an update for Jessie? Could th...

CUPS is also asking for a username and password. pi/raspberry is not accepted. No idea how to setup my printer now. EDIT: Forget about CUPS - my fault for not adding user to lpadmin group.
