Re: Broadcom BCM2835 Power Saving

Ok, thx.

But are there no "low power" ARM settings under the hood somewhere?

Or why not try https://github.com/tinspin/rupy; it's the fastest, most robust and agile.

Broadcom BCM2835 Power Saving

Can you make the CPU throttle down seriously (so you can have the zero run a whole day on a 2600mAh pack) without interrupting wakeup events like phone ARM CPUs can?

Re: Analogue audio redux

Yes, just tried. No, now it worked... so it's probably the unreproducible thing?! Now I tried it on a RPi 2 just to see the framerate and there was a segmentationfault and raspian became unresponsive when I closed the game... can be completely unrelated... Now I lost the connection to xserver when ...

Re: Analogue audio redux

I tried to, but the update only gets you to this summer I'm afraid... so either install a fresh sd card or (I didn't get a reply if the new driver was in there actually) go bananas with firmware update. I think... @jdb can you try aeonalpha an see why the text to speech doesn't work with the new dri...

Re: Aeon Alpha

There now the game works 99% on the rpi with sound at 30 FPS!

Just add audio_pwm_mode=2 to /boot/config.txt

Thx to Anholt for OpenGL fixed pipeline graphics + jdb and Oracle for mixer sound!

The only tiny flaw left is that the "text to voice" stopped working!

Works most of the time...

Re: Analogue audio redux

Works! Thx jdb and algorithm! Now my 3D Space Shooter works 99%! The only tiny bug is that "text to voice" doesn't seem to work. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No line matching interface SourceDataLine supporting format PCM_SIGNED 48000.0 Hz, 16 bit, mono, 2 bytes/frame, little-endian is suppor...

Ok, well I mean "things that you will use with your pi". Sometimes (actually always when making something useful) you'll want to use 2 things at the same time.

Re: Solderless connector pins for Pi Zero GPIO

I need a better way to do the GPIO pins... I have hats both below and above the rpi zero... so I have pins going through the board... I could solder them but I wish there was a way to make the connection between the pins and the holes without soldering. I'm only going to solder the pins I need = 3.3...

yep, I cut up directories with folders on the 2 first alphanumeric an 3 first numeric characters. having a file database is totally the future though. edit: I will experiment with the additional partition before extension, great idea! Re: ext4 inode ratio

Yes, I know about this command I'm just puzzled that you have to copy the image after you manually create the file system. This would mean image creators really need to create different images with different ratios which seems like a bad solution. So really I'm asking where is the 2017-07-05-raspbia...

Re: ext4 inode ratio

I asked because maybe it was something like "you add -ratio 4096 to the dd command", but since it isn't; I let time solve problems, it usually does.

The reason I need a smaller ratio (not block size) is because I have a file database that creates one file per "column value", that is alot of files!

Sure seems convoluted, but if I manage to create an image of the new filesystem then it's a one time ordeal which might be ok... still not going to spend time on this now. Hopefully ext5 will have dynamic inode creation...

Re: Analogue audio testing

:) ok, looking forward to that... I bought a USB sound/mic dongle to see if that can help, but it takes to much space to be usable in practice...

Edit: and also it has a lot of whining too... will try a HDMI audio extractor next, but I guess it will also be whiny...

Re: HDMI

Yep, well that's life... Also it would be nice to be able to use the OpenGL driver with Fake KMS AND use omxplayer at the same time, specially in Chromium! At that point the RPi 3 is actually usable for stuff... if you are able to get a USB soundcard that works with mic... then it's complete and can...

Re: Analogue audio testing

Hi, this works great if you only have one sound source, so I suspect is uses ALSA and not Pulse? If so what are the chances of supporting Pulse for mixed sounds? You can see what I mean by trying these instructions + audio_pwm_mode=2: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1169979#p1169979
