Re: Bluetooth Headset not working on RPi4B

I'm afraid I have nothing to say regarding an Arch distro. I tend to stick with Raspbian, and I would not use PulseAudio, Blueman, or alarm-bluetooth-raspberrypi (whatever that does). The standard Raspbian comes with everything you need for Bluetooth streaming audio, and in my experience, it works q...

Re: pi zero w and aptx

I'm not certain that aptX is down to the hardware alone (or at all); it must also be supported in software. I don't believe aptX is included with the BlueALSA version in the repo; it may need to be compiled in. The Pi won't 'get confused' with multiple Bluetooth adapters, they will be numbered hci0,...

Re: Bluetooth Headset not working on RPi4B

I have not heard of any complaints regarding audio streaming on the Pi4. I have not tried streaming from my Pi4, but I have tested streaming TO it, and it's been working fine. I doubt if it's due to a module mismatch. You didn't mention much about your system. You're not using PulseAudio, are you? B...

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with radios apart from WiFi and Bluetooth. I can't think of any advantage using a different frequency would have.

Re: omxplayer + Bluetooth = new problems... need some help

1. how can I make the player to play the file instantly just like when using wired speakers? You can't. Bluetooth streaming will always exhibit more latency than a wired connection. That's just Bluetooth. One second latency sounds a little extreme, but I would be surprised if you can cut it down to...

Re: Steps to setup the communication of rasp pi 3 with hm-10 installed on tm4c microcontroller

First step is to see if the Pi recognizes the HM-10. Use the bluetoothctl command 'scan' to see if the device is recognized. If so, you can use bluetoothctl or gatttool to connect and read or write characteristics. That's assuming you have a valid BLE service and advertising running on the TM4C. You...

Your post would be much more helpful and informative if you mentioned what you "have been tweaking and changing parameters for days". Also what you mean by "Rpi 4b's Wifi/BT module". "Sleeping mode" I'll just ignore for now.

Re: Bluetooth Data Logging Project

No problem communicating between a Pi and an HC-05, although BLE is not an option.

However, from what I can see, communications between an ADXL345 and an HC-05 may be a problem. I notice Adafruit has an ADXL345 breakout board, but only with I2C / SPI interfaces. The HC-05 requires a serial interface.

Re: Connect to BT device after it is turned on, or reconnect if it goes off then on

Not that I am aware of. There is nothing magic about Bluetooth; such that two devices intrinsically know when they are close and active. If one device goes out of range, start looping again.

Re: Connect to BT device after it is turned on, or reconnect if it goes off then on

Rfcomm will only connect when told to, via 'rfcomm connect'. You could put that command in a loop, and try to connect periodically, until successful.

Re: Cant get bluetooth to work. RPI 2b

Having taken a look at the Esperanza EA159, I double down on my previous recommendation. It's a cheap, no-name dongle with no chipset specified, and support only for Windows mentioned. If you can't bring the dongle up, there's nothing you can do with it (including pairing). Try to find a dongle usin...

Try:
sudo hciconfig hci0 up

[EDIT: I see now you are running as root; nevermind.

I believe I've seen that "Operation not supported (95)" error before, and it was the result of a bum dongle (it happens). Can you try a different dongle, preferably one that costs more than a dollar or two?]

Bluepy will allow you to connect with a BLE device.

You should probably research BLE. 'Paired' and 'trusted' are classic Bluetooth terms that have no real relevance with BLE.

Re: Bluetooth RSSI

Should be pretty simple using the bluepy Python library. First, install bluepy (https://github.com/IanHarvey/bluepy). The following code will scan for ten seconds, and then print the RSSI for all BLE devices it found: from bluepy.btle import Scanner scanner = Scanner() devices = scanner.scan(10.0) f...

Are you trying to connect thru bluetoothctl? If so, ignore any errors. As long as the devices are paired, try the ussp-push command. It will make the connection.

Re: Bluetooth inactive start does not start (Pi 2B)

Probably the best idea is to install BlueZ from the repositories:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install bluez
That will get you BlueZ 5.50 under Buster, 4.47 under Stretch.

Emill expressed things very well. About the only changes to Bluetooth on the Pi4 is the response to the version number being 5.0 vs. 4.2.

Have you compared with ussp-push and OBEX? It would be interesting to rule out Blueman issues.

It might also be interesting to not install bluez and bluetooth. Modern versions of Raspbian come with BlueZ installed.
