Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Ethernet Issue

This does not make sense,. Yes the on board LAN could have failed , but if you have added a second LAN port using a USB device why would that also fail after one reboot. And if the LAN ports have failed in some strange way why can you still see them using ifconfig ? I would still be inclined to pow...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Ethernet Issue

I thing that you do not need to disable the onboard Ethernet driver. Simply add your USB Ethernet adapter, plug the Ethernet cable and type this command:

Code: Select all

ifconfig

¿No será que no has configurado en el perfil de putty que se conecte como usuario pi?. Creo recordar que está algo escondido en putty ese parámetro.

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Ethernet Issue

The problem is not related to DHCP or IP address because the link eth0 is not detected and the speed is only 10MB/s. Speed: 10Mb/s Link detected: no Try using a different ethernet port on your router. If you get the same problem with other ports, use a different ethernet cable. This seems a physical...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Ethernet Issue

Type this command after reboot and check if the link eth0 is detected: ethtool eth0 The output will provide other useful information related to the ethernet port. This example shows a not connected ethernet port (sorry, my rpi3b+ is connected via wifi :D ). pi@rpi:~ $ ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0:...

Re: Raspbian OS unreachable after several hours of use

The best solution is a filter. Edit the file /etc/rsyslog.conf : sudo nano /etc/rsyslog.conf and add a line like this ( :msg, contains, "influxd" ~ ): ############### #### RULES #### ############### :msg, contains, "influxd" ~ # # First some standard log files. Well I made some changes.....I created the cron job to empty the syslog and I'm also using a 3.4 amp power supply. So far so good...... I have done some tests and I believe that the command rm is not the best option for the workaround. I recommend this alternative cron job: */15 * * * * sudo logrot...

Re: Raspbian OS unreachable after several hours of use

I believe that the size of the log files could be the cause of your problem. The sd card could be completely filled with the large number of events stored in the log file(s) and then the system would become unreachable because the root partition is full. Try this workaround. Open a terminal and type...

Try assigning metrics to interfaces wlan0 and eth0. A lower metric means a higher priority. Yo have to edit the file /etc/dhcpcd.conf sudo nano /etc/dhcpcd.conf and the add these four lines: ... interface wlan0 metric 10 interface eth0 metric 50 Check the metrics after reboot: ip route

Do not forget the file /var/log/syslog. It could give useful information. Re: Black screen after boot up

The root partition is full, not only the directory /var/log. This is the problem. Type this command: df -f Why is that partition full?. Too small?. Not expanded?. Maybe there are many events on the system due to some kind of problem in such a way that the log files are huge and the partition becomes...

The only places in the second file which do not have the full path are within functions which are not accessed until someone clicks on a button. Does script2.py use some kind of GUI functions?. Re: Raspbian OS unreachable after several hours of use

I guess your problem has not happened only once but it is repeated continuously. Your problem could be related to the power supply, the sd card, the network (router, cable), etc. Take a look at the LED activity when your system is unreachable. Check if your RPi is able to respond to the ping request...

Re: Black screen with cursor (basic openbox?)

Your problem could be related to the HDMI screen resolution. Try sudo raspi-config and then 7 Advanced options -> A5 Resolution and select your option. Finally, reboot the system. Take a look at the file /boot/config.txt too. cat /boot/config.txt https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configurati...
