Re: WebRTC V8/WebM

I’ve tried to look into WebRTC and got a simple demo working fine. Found a short introduction into simple Janus WebRTC server and decided to try it out. Compiled the "janus" server (on Arch, so no instructions I can give for Raspbian, but it is in the README) ./configure line I used was ./configure ...

Re: Damaged camera board?

That is horizontal with respect to the sensor. And it looks like insufficiently clean power. I had this with a bad/thin/whatever USB power cable before and switching that helped.

Thanks. Sounds like the warning is not the cause of the issue, but just happens when stopping the non-working stream.

Chromi does not (yet) support H.264 in WebRTC.

Re: Convert video h264 to mp4

ethanol100, please try and merge this pts code into the master repo. This could be very useful. I remember using an MP4 utility that can read a timecode file in the same format and mux it. But I cannot remember what it was called. x264 can also read an external TC file with --tcfile-in <string> Forc...

Dunno if I should post this here or in a new thread. I get some kind of oops in dmesg using the V4l2 driver. [ 118.606138] bcm2835-v4l2: Work-around for gstreamer issue is active. I think Mplayer should do it. Maybe you need to override the playback FPS. I don’t know if VLC can do this.

Capture from v4l2 driver. The driver send timestamped frames and ffmpeg can sync using these.

Re: a China knockoff version of R-Pi camera board

As mentioned, the lens module was misfocused and adjusting it got a lot closer to nominal resolution. Actually, I've bought two official cameras, and immediately when I got the second I compared them side-by-side and it was obvious that the new one was blurry. I had to refocus it and then it was al...

Re: Open source H264 encoder/decoder

x264 is OSS but not licensed. x264 is officially only distributed as source. Providing compiles happens in a gray area.

The Cisco compiled binaries are licensed. They show the source and how to compile, but only *their* compiles are licensed.

Re: synchronised video recording on multiple RPi's

Video2Linux2 driver gives you accurate timestamps. Software which can make use of these timestamps is e.g. GStreamer. I've dabbled with synchronizing images here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=484165#p484165 It worked well. Hardware synch hasn't been available so far because the ...

Re: Videostream in Realtime

HTML5 solutions usually have long delay, due to the chunked video format, where chunks need to download before being played. HTML5 live video like HLS or DASH is *broadcast live*, not *real-time live*.

YouTube shows a max of 720P and a 10MB clip. That translates to about 3.2Mb/s which seems reasonable.
Youtube always transcodes uploads. You can't really infer what the original bitrate was.

Re: Qt 5.x and camera breaks for firmwares after 66e4e823e1d

I guess we could do a "gstreamer-broken-framesizses-workaround=1" command-line parameter to just not return a result to vidioc_enum_framesizes (having now worked out how to do those, it is trivial). It does irk to have to do nasty hacks like that, and the gstreamer team have acknowledged that their...

Or just use

Seems really weird to not use the hardware encoder and instead encode to mpeg1 with software and then decode mpeg1 with JavaScript, when browsers nowadays all support H264.

Delete all this:

Code: Select all

It shouldn't be necessary to decode and re-encode the audio from MP3 to AAC on the CPU. FLV supports MP3 and I suppose your target server supports it too?
