Re: How would I connect a small LCD to the pi?

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before or I'm in the wrong place. I'm fairly new to the hardware side of things and was wondering how one would go about connecting a small LCD such as this one: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1480 I'm looking at this for a handheld gaming project using the pi...

Re: Let the Pi resize your SDXC card!

Years ago the Raspbian OS did not automatically resize the default install partition. It was left to the user to run the expand function found in the raspi-config utility. If the user did not run the expand, then they would quickly run out of disk space after installing 1 or 2 packages or even durin...

I would like to rearrange Raspbian menu items to my own folders. I could copy name and code but then custom icon is not in new item. How i can copy or duplicate items and then move to new folder in menu? Moving and/or creating new menu or desktop items is not straight forward but can be done like t...

What OS are you running?
omxplayer is already installed by default in Raspbian Buster.

Re: Upgraded Stretch to Buster on 3B+; won't boot on 4B?

IMO NOOBs is only useful if you want to install more than 1 OS on the same card..... If not then it is much easier to use the stand alone image installed with Etcher. If you must use a installer / boot manager then it is better to use PINN instead of NOOBs. Unlike NOOBS, PINN can easily be updated w...

Re: Low Power warning on Pi3B+ with 5v10A supply? sw hook for low power?

I also use a 5V 10A industrial power supply and frequently got low voltage warnings when using a hacked apart USB cable. It is difficult to make a good connection to the braided ground wires.

Problem went away when I bought some raw micro USB connectors and made my own cables.

Not quite true. I have never had a problem downloading from raspberrypi.org. Sometimes it might be a bit slow. If you feel the need for speed what is wrong with the torrent? I am not concerned about speed and don't mind the wait but Recommended Software hangs I can't even look at the list! PS How d...

I had trouble downloading Buster even a week after it was released. Kept aborting after a few MB.
I then tried torrent DL and that worked first time.

I believe the first update/upgrade is now close to 200MB.

Not sure what you are asking?

The xdotool package will allow you to execute keyboard key-press & mouse move/clicks from scripts.

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt install xdotool
xdotool -h
man xdotool
or Google for examples.

Opps, sorry. The file to edit is in /home/username/.config/Openbox/.
It's actually: /home/username/.config/openbox/

I just copied the entire file to restore all to default.

Code: Select all

sudo cp /etc/xdg/openbox/lxde-pi-rc.xml /home/pi/.config/openbox
