Re: RPi as Wifi-to-usb file manager

Can you elaborate on why you need a Pi at all in this scenario? There are tons of apps to manage & transfer files from phones to mac & pc.

Re: Pi Cloner for Mac OS X

That's better :)

Just backed up my 8G SD via v2. No error messages, compressed size 3.17 Gb.

No time ATM to reconstitute the image to SD, so I used "unarchiver" on the mac to build the img file which mounts fine in the Finder, & a cursory glance suggests both partitions are fine, thank you.

Well,

I've tried those 3 GitHub files, along with today's ROOL posted image on my 2 weeks old RPi model A, & RISC OS works just fine.

Is your RPi more recent than that?

Re: Boot problem

I managed to reproduce your vchiq message by getting yet another "start.elf" which caused the failure, so Dex maybe that's the file you found which caused a problem you mentioned!

If you give me a URL I can post a file to, I'll send you the relevant start.elf that does fix that problem here.

Do you have this file (attached) in your boot folder?

If not, try this one to see if it makes a difference (unzip it first).

Re: Boot problem

Ok, then that is an incompatibility with the firmware. vchiq is a file to communicate with the VideoCore processor I believe. I'll see if I can find out more, but in the meantime, try replacing start.elf with the same name file from an earlier release, perhaps from one of your other SD cards? bootco...

What exactly happens with the non-booter?

If you don't need any overscan changes for your monitor, & you're just testing, no "config.txt" is necessary, so long as you rename the 2.4 meg's "riscos" file to:
