Re: Timidity output device

Good find. It also works for my DAC, so that means at least for the IQ, & possibly other cards running timidity, a specific syntax is necessary, hmmm. $ timidity -v TiMidity++ version 2.14.0 omxplayer doesn't need X, so if you wanted to test it at some point, you could install it. Besides audio it's...

... I know there is an issue with fake KMS stalling during boot on 4.19, but full KMS is working fine for me. Admittedly I'm also testing a Debian Buster build so have a significantly more recent Mesa. How far does it get during boot for you? Just the black screen as I mentioned in another post. I'...

...Are these things possible?... Many thanks, Chris Yes. Some of my RPi applications use up almost all of the GPIO's switched to an alternative dedicated function, so I sometimes have to use a different method of input, the simplest (& cheapest) being to use a USB (or even PS/2, as they are often b...

John, I don't have any I2S based audio kit, so will try to get one at some point. However I bought a DAC, but USB based, so not too dear, & indeed that line: timidity -iA -Os plughw:4 does not let any audio appear from its output! $ cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [ALSA ]: bcm2835_alsa - bcm2835 ALSA bcm28...

Re: Has anyone been able to get glfw running?

I'm currently using 4.19 kernel for a particular project, but presently it won't boot with either fake or real kms in config.txt. As I'm interested in how well a particular OpenGL application runs, I've built a card using the very interesting 32-64 bit kernels from Sakaki. $ uname -a Linux nsp64 4.1...

It took just 5 minutes to xzcat the compressed image to a 32G µSD on Raspbian, thanks to Sakaki's excellent instructions, so why not just try it for yourself?

jahboater, thank you kindly for that link. I'd like to test an app's performance using the fake kms driver, but raspbian with the 4.19 kernel (which I need to even run another application) won't currently boot with that option. It took 12 minutes (running on my raspbian card) to xzcat the compressed...

...'d ideally like to use files created on ios, so .MOV files. However, I can convert them to standard h264 files too. No audio needed. Yes, iOS is nice for producing high quality videos. MP4Box in the gpac suite is a useful tool to extract the h264 stream from mux'd files. It runs fine on RPi. hel...

Your DAC looks pretty good. I don't have such, but I've just plugged in a cheap C-media usb audio "card", & now my old midi keyboard is playing through it, so hopefully this will work for your nice DAC. Perhaps you could confirm that, so we can all know what to expect if we buy similar? So, find out...

Original is perfectly capable. Until recently, it was all I used for Kodi. Try playing /opt/vc/src/hello_pi/hello_video/test.h264 to see if that's choppy. If so, in that same folder is a Makefile for hello_video.bin Type make in a terminal window to build the application, then $ ./hello_video.bin te...

Just as you see in the picture I posted - go to that url.

To save you typing that lot in:

In fact I've just received that same screen.

Reloading a few seconds later & it comes up with the actual post.
