why you asking?
when you installed everything already, why not try out and see if it is working?

I am in need of a GPS Simulator for use in a underground location where a GPS signal is required for the device to work. I have been using devices that I have located from the internet although these GPS simulators are >$2,900-$32,0000. Can I somehow develop a GPS simulator that will generate four ...

do you have the raw SIM808 module or is it one of the adafruit thing? https://www.adafruit.com/?q=SIM808 is the internal update rate set up correctly? i don't have that SIM808 module, so i don't know if it is applicable to set up an internal update rate. what do you get, when you use minicom instead...

Re: Update/Upgrade a group of Pi's from one Pi

The benefit of doing it this way is that packages will be downloaded as required by the first device wanting them them and then cached for future requests. It then doesn't matter which Pi requests the package first, it also requires no (or very little) ongoing effort for future updates. does it mea...

I followed some steps I found on line to make sure ic2 pre-reqs are installed and enabled.
what steps you exactly followed to enable i²c?
as far as i know there are settings in raspi-config available that should do it for you, if you are using the most recent version of raspbian and raspi-config.

Re: New NTP server questions/problems.

you also can take a look to " chrony " it is a NTP server/client as well but has a different philosophy as " ntpd " has. so it is working better with very long interruptions to an other ntp server. chrony is an alternative open-source implementation of NTP service, originally designed for systems wi...

BTW: is your gpsd using the PPS signal of the kernel (/dev/pps0)? (does "gpsmon" show any activity at PPS: at the bottom of the middle block "GSA + PPS") ... gpsd provides an additinal "PPS accurate" time source for ntpd. should be at index 1 or 2 of the shared memory. it is, as far as i know, merg...

i didn't know, that you are already optimized your ntp.conf settings. sorry, with NMEA i meant the SHM[0] (127.127.28.0) time source of gpsd, and not the raw serial output from the GPS device. do you use Raspbian Stratch Lite ore the Full version with the Desktop? i always used Raspbian Stretch Lite...

Re: Raspbian Stretch: issue with PPS accuracy of NTP.

I'm also having issues with PPS on Stretch. do you just have tested stretch, or is it on jessie fine but stretch has issues? My PPS source keeps getting marked as a false ticker, which just leaves the output from the GPS chip over serial and that has ~300ms swings. Testing using `ppstest /dev/pps0`...

i have nothing to do with the bootloader development.

does the bootloader has the ability to write (modify) files?
i think it has only implemented the reading part for simplicity reason.
writing is more complicated, because you have to take care to more things.

Re: hubpixed vs zero4u

one thing could be better...
the USB ports stick out of the board.
could be fixed, when the ports would be places in an other way.
one USB port in the left, two in the middle, one on the right.
then there should be enough space to put all of them further in to be lined up with the board dimensions.
