So its not a maybe for a 12v supply for the single sensor or sounder or display or....?

EDIT, just discovered that the jst IS the connector for the sensor to the board!

Waterproof Ultrasonic Distance Measuring Sensor

Wondering if this "TE501" 5v sensor will work "off the shelf" with Pi/Raspbain in much the same way as HC-SR04 sensors do? Anyone know of a tutorial or code examples/wiring? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultrasonic-Module-Distance-Measuring-Transducer-Sensor-Perfect-Waterproof-UK-/291735337523?hash=item...

import module - Piborg confusion

This is probably really simple but I'm lost. I have one set of software for a motor controller PicoBorgRev and another for distance and servos UltraBorg . I have a python script that starts with import UltraBorg import PicoBorgRev import time import math import sys ... that I cannot get to run... If...

Hello, buffer is the "Pre-Event Motion Capture Buffer". So the capture starts about 1 second before motion is detected. A very useful feature for me ;) Generally i dont think that it is on overclocking. The raspberry is running otherwise perfect (before this i used it for my Squeezebox Server with ...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

Given the v2 NoIR version clearly (no pun intended) has serious focus issues and an acknowledgement of sorts has been made by Eban.

I am wondering what steps/revisions are being made to rectify the problem?

Will version 2.x be available soon?

The clone V1 you referred to (on eBay) etc have 840 bolted to the side of the camera module and only work at close range.. Max 1.2m as the power for t...

Re: New Zero camera connector

Thank you.

I have used up to 90cm with the old style ribbon and 3m+ with the hdmi converter at each end, so maybe I can use a standard "fine pitch" ribbon when they arrive at one end with hdmi conversion!

With respect I was not asking how I should think, I was just wondering as many will about longer lengths for the camera on a zero and the technical name in order to search beyond pi trading.

New Zero camera connector

The new "fine-pitch" camera connector ribbon cable for the Zero is the same price as the zero computer for a short cable! Anyone know if longer lengths are possible and available at a more reasonable price?

What is the actual cable called or is it specific to the foundation?

Re: NoIR camera and 940nm illuminator

The old V1 board works at 940nm but brighter (more) 940nm illumination is required to record general video/stills with movement. but it works. The V2.1 is apparently more sensitive so with enough lighting it should work as well or better BUT it depends on what you are trying to capture!

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

My vote for camera v2.2 is for the viscous compound to allow users to manually refocus plus a plastic focussing spanner plus the option to exchange the normal cable for a PiZero cable. And all the same price!! And soon! Then v2.3 should have more (better) lens options and the camera should be mount...

Edit raspimjpeg about 2/3 way down you will see a list of locations for video, stills, time lapse etc.

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/raspimjpeg

I've successfully set up port forwarding on lots of camera in the past. Right now I'm running motioneyeOS with the Raspberry Pi with port forwarding since I couldn't get it to work on RPi Cam. I'm thinking everything might need to be set up initially on first install. Login credentials, port, etc. ...

Having read Eben on the V2 focus/distortion issues and having ranted a bit I wonder what solution is going to take place? IMG_20160510_213059.jpg Having replaced the mount, glued the lens down and fiddeled around a bit I managed to get a V2 to work as well as the V1 with a wider view. :-( I will not...

I've managed to remove the standard lens and add an M12 mount, just from this and adding a 1/3 lens (all I had at the time) focus seems much clearer, both close and distant.

I will tinker some more and post what I find.... Better than ranting I hope... :o

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

Oh dear, I need to rant! On reading the response from Eban I have now returned 4 V2 cameras inc 2 NOIR because they don't focus very well at all. At well over £20 each for a drop in replacement that claims to be better, but which in most aspects is worse, I feel cheated. I will canabalise the two I ...

On Mon May 02, 2016 7:55 pm Investigations are ongoing. Any official news before I return 4 of the new V2 cameras i purchased? Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Try setting video resolution to half the size of the sensor (1640x1232). That's what 972p was for the old camera. Let me know if that works at 30fps because I'm thinking of getting the new one. Tried it and it works just fine on V2 camera aside from infinity focus which seems to be a lens issue. Wa...

Re: Slo-mo capabilities on the v2 camera

IF you can get good focus on the V2 then at least 90 fps is possible at 640x480. It comes out really well with the new lens for close up (0.4m - 3m)

Code: Select all

raspivid -w 640 -h 480 -fps 90 -t 10000 -o test90fps.h264
Higher frame rates are possible which other may assist you with.

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

I now have 3 NoIR and one standard V2 and although colour is improved the focus at infinity is very uneven which is a real shame. Also NoIR does not seem any better in low light which is also a shame even though frame rate does seem improved, this seems contradictory! Will wait a week and if no news...
