Using DateTime as a file name with timelapse -tl

the top code works fine raspistill -w 1280 -h 720 -x -n -tl 1000 -t 7200000 -o /media/KINGSTON/tlCAP/tl_%05d.jpg But this fails.. raspistill -w 1280 -h 720 -x -n -tl 1000 -t 7200000 -o /media/KINGSTON/tlCAP/tl$(date +"%d%m%Y_%H%M-%S").jpg Is there a way to use datetime rather than just numbers as da...

Re: Embedding Date and Time in Timelapse

wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/ydxz55y0nt9b8q4/still_overlay chmod a+x still_overlay ./still_overlay -s "$(date)" > test.jpg Thanks for this but I'm not sure how to incorperate this code into the stills capture I have been using? ROLL=$(cat /var/tlcam/stillsa) SAVEDIR=/var/tlcam/stills while [ true...

Re: Interference in low light

Had this in the past and upgrading the power supply solved it, also noticed the quality/length of power supply cable had an effect, improving quality of cable (graphite blocks) made some difference. Not noticed any of these issues with standard camera module though, so I suspect something else is at...

Re: Embedding Date and Time in Timelapse

Thanks I have tried raspistill -w 1280 -h 720 -x -n -e bmp -o - | convert -pointsize 24 -fill white -annotate +30+680 "F1 $(date)" - It takes around 7-8 seconds between images on medium overclock 256 Pi. I would like to reduce it down to the 4 seconds or less. Any ideas? The full code being used is ...

Embedding Date and Time in Timelapse

I found a small script to capture stills from Andrew Beck ROLL=$(cat /var/tlcam/series) SAVEDIR=/var/tlcam/stills while [ true ]; do filename=$ROLL-$(date -u +"%d%m%Y_%H%M-%S").jpg /opt/vc/bin/raspistill -o $SAVEDIR/$filename sleep 4; done; I want to embed the time in within each captured frame (bot...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

This is brilliant. Even works on Win XP with IE with the IR camera version that flickers until the exposure is set to "night" then it's very clear. (indoor lighting) Would be good to find a way to start and stop the process on the fly. sudo killall raspimjpeg stops it but restarting with sudo /etc/r...

Recording AND streaming

I have successfully managed to stream using...

raspivid -o - -t 0 -w 720 -h 576 -fps 25 | cvlc stream:///dev/stdin --sout '#standard{access=http,mux=ts,dst=:8090}' :demux=h264

I tried adding filename.h264 after -o but this did not work!

Can anyone tell me how to record while streaming?

When & How much Camera module and Android OS

When I heard on this web site that Android 4 was coming to the Pi AND an HD camera module was also coming I ordered my first Pi. By the end of the year (2012) I expected the camera module. By then I also thought Android would be working as the foundation was saying/hinting on this site five months a...

Re: HD video recording plus GPS data

Thanks for that... OK Pi arrived today, got GPS working briefly, got a webcam sort of working 2-3fps! Steep learning curve and very frustrating and i feel really lost in linux. Major issue trying to use wireless keyboard & mouse! Tried 3 different MS versions all won't work properly, UG! Given that ...

HD video recording plus GPS data

I am looking to record HD video (720p or 1080p via an HD USB camera) when my Pi board finally arrives.. Is this possible? As a longer term project I want to record HD video AND GPS location data to SD card AND transmit the location data and maybe some stills via 3g or 4g dongle at 2-4 min intervals....
