if you have to rebuild then burn a new image and or rsync back
Ug, not ideal, especially as restoring a back up to a new image may break what seems to be a fragile system.

Any other ideas anyone?

Re: Restoring a 32gb backed up Raspbian image

With same type of same manufacturer? There are (small but significant ) size variations between the indicated value such as 32 GB and the actual number of available blocks. Yes, I get that! However I'm looking for a more robust restore solution than having exactly the same matching cards. The probl...

Restoring a 32gb backed up Raspbian image

Using Win32DiskImager to back up a microSD card image of Raspbian (expanded at first boot to whole card) to a windows PC. No problem! Now before I mess up the install I thought to check that I can restore the good image! I get a not enough space in a blank 32GB card!! Is there a better way to do thi...

Same problem here, framed screen drifting off to one side after about a month of only occasional use. Will return for refund soon

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I cannot get into the lab until tomorrow to try it out, but I believe that every time a user connects via the universities wlan, a different ip address is assigned. I'm not completely sure why this is, but will that effect this method for viewing the stream from outside the local network? Also, I d...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

That's a tricky one, ask your systems administrator about allowing external access to a specific port. Say port 8080 which you can set in RPi admin. So external access would be via http:// server ip :8080 or http://dyndnsAddress:8080 I'm sure there are other, probably more secure ways but they are b...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I am very new to using RPi's and their camera module, but I have deployed this successfully on a Raspberry Pi 2. What I am wondering is how I can host this on my own website so I can view the stream from anywhere over the internet? The easiest way to view the RPi cam outside your own network is via...

Edit After running sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade pan and tilt fails, so thought to downgrade to Wheezy and p&t version to match (on Pi2) then ran update, it messes the whole thing up too! So despite Pi2 being quite old now, the problems with gpio seem to continue to plague!! /Edit I have...

Pi-pan is now working thanks to a change by OpenElectrons for the Pi2 B

download the pi-pan.tar.gz and install but follow instructions from old software, not the current help file!

bax5000 There isn't much here on the pilight, but we will see what we can do! Read through it anyway just to get a feel for how the files interact. Ok, what pi are you using(A, B, A+, B+,2B) because the 2B has been troublesome so far! Check that i2c is set to on in raspi-config. I'll see what else ...

Re: Pie to be, should be split off (see troubleshooting!)

Despite the fact that the underlying GPU is exactly the same, and just the CPUs have changed with some other bits and pieces round the edges? Your point? My point is that it does not work as the A, B or A+ or B+ do, so whatever is the same is perhaps very different in use. Sure the basic connection...

Pie to be, should be split off (see troubleshooting!)

Or am I troublemaking.... I know the Pi2 B has only been around for a little over 2 weeks but the problems with gpio, wifi, crashing out, overclocking warenty bit etc make me wonder if in fact it is a very different piece of pi that shares a Pi+ footprint and legacy but is in fact just to different ...

Glad to help! I don't have a pi2 but will soon! :D When I get it I'll see if I find anything in the changes on the pi2 B that would effect the pipan.
