Re: Pi Light Switch

First off I have to say if you are unsure of what you are doing, is this the right project? the pi and mains voltage connected incorrectly can result in making magic smoke, likewise connecting humans to mains voltage can produce "negative" results. Given this is a project I don't think I should give...

You may find this site https://sites.google.com/site/raspirobot/home useful. There is also a book that describes the project, there is a link from that site.

Re: Getting Started with Raspberry Pi

Matt, great book, two questions, firstly is the an update on availability of the robotboard (this month, this quarter...) and secondly are there any plans to sell a complete kit? I am struggling to find all the components from one supplier in the UK so the postage could mount up :D

Re: Direct links to Gertboard Manuals and Software

It might be worth adding a link to the new manual for the assembled kit, especially as Farnell still link to the old manual on the product page :?

Re: AirPlay Questions

Not answering your question directly, but I have Airplay working as part of xbmc and that can be configured for audio over HDMI or analogue, so it is possible, but depends on the s/w you use.

Re: Farnell assembled board

I'm slightly more confident that I may actually have managed to order one, the stock level has gone down by two and I've had a confirmation email, and the order is 'processing', so I guess I need to wait to see what happens tomorrow!

I've just ordered one from that page, will have to wait and see if I get an email on Monday confirming dispatch or confirming a system error :) Thanks for the heads up.

I think KenT and I had similar thoughts on the expansion theme, just arrived there from different directions! I was curious about the slice and found an explanation here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RiscPC and an extreme example here http://www.d1.dion.ne.jp/~r_high/memorial/rocketship.html Whilst y...

Re: ModMyPi Mk.2 USB Hub, 2.5'' HDD, Patch Bay, On/Off - Ide

Looks good so far, what sort of price band are you targeting for this? You might get a better idea on people's interest / expectations if they know how much it's going to be :) Have you any thoughts on how the camera module that's due 'soon' might be attached to this design? If the case is going to ...

Have a look at issue 3 of Magpi, there is an article on that arm, also there have been several threads here about projects using it, they are probably several pages back but a search should dig them out.
