Re: Youtube Signin Issue with XBMC and Rasberry Pi

To be able sign in, you need new Youtube plugin.
To install new Youtube plugin you need new, compatible XBMC (aka KODI).
So, just upgrade to KODI.

Re: Infrared receiver on raspberry 2

Check your dmesg for lirc messages. For my RPi it is: lirc_rpi: auto-detected active high receiver on GPIO pin 24 lirc_rpi lirc_rpi.0: lirc_dev: driver lirc_rpi registered at minor = 0 lirc_rpi: driver registered! Double check GPIO pin number. There should be no output from mode2 command when the GP...

There should be no output from mode2 at all. I think you connect the wire to wrong GPIO pin number.

Re: Pi DAC vs HDMI audio

So the sound output from the converter should be more or less the same quality as DAC output, if I'm correct? More or less... HDMI is not designed for audio. It's even worse than S/PDIF. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/173-2-channel-audio/1326576-usb-vs-hdmi-2ch-audio-receiver.html#post20263655 The o...

Re: 20x2 I2C OLED character display and XBMC = nothing

Download code from http://sourceforge.net/projects/lcdproc/files/lcdproc/
Replace hd44780-i2c.c file with patched version.
Build code:

Code: Select all

./configure --enable-drivers=hd44780
make
Copy hd44780.so to /usr/lib/lcdproc.

Re: 20x2 I2C OLED character display and XBMC = nothing (solv

These displays require different init codes. The init sequence is hard-coded in hd44780-i2c.c file.
So you need build driver yourself or ask Gluck for compiled version.
My hd44780.so is just for 16x2 display, no other will work.

I use Xbian for XBMC.
I build my drivers on RaspBian or Xbian - don't remember, but Xbian is based on Raspbian, so it's doesn't matter.

Wow thanks! fast reply :) I will try it. You you give me a hint how you compiled it anyway? Respectively give me a link with some hints about it. On which system did you compile the driver, because I would like to know on which system it is working for sure ;) Are you sure it works on Raspberry PI ...

Re: 20x2 I2C OLED character display and XBMC = nothing

1. Yes, you can connect the display directly to the Pi. It works @ 3.3V.
2. You can download my hd44780.so file if you don't know how to build driver from sources. It works with RPi2.
3. I'm not familiar with OpenELEC.
4. Yes, you have to edit config files.

Re: Raspberry pi stops at 43 degree

Bad soldering (voids) in the solder joint to BGA interface or in the solder joint to printed circuit board (PCB) interface can cause that. http://www.pcbsino.org/product/BGA-x-ray-inspection.jpg It is possible to repair (BGA reball), but for 25$ computer this is unprofitable. Your RPi probably is dy...

I use RPi2 + HDD + power supply 24/7 in closed, metal case. No heatsink, no vents. Now it runs @45C.
