Re: PiCenter - A lightweight launcher for omxplayer

I fixed the segmentation fault error.

I didn't have LXDE installed as I'm using the cutdown raspbian image for Squeezeplug.

Installed LXDE and it's 80 million dependencies and now picenter runs OK and I get the screen up - not tested beyond that yet

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Have you tried SQUEEZEPLUG:9000 ??? I have tried that, both with squeezeplug and renaming it. Actually, I would be amazed if it resolved the name correctly but would not take the direct IP address! Definitely the right IP address, by the way, and the symptoms are the same whether I use DHCP or a fi...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

No, x-stuff is not removed, it's simply not installed! That's because SqueezePlug is a headless project! I used the Raspbian Installer http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianInstaller Ah OK - understood. Is there a simple way to get an Xserver running on the Squeezeplug image for any additional packages t...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Quick question about the Squeezeplug image...have you removed all GUI xterm type stuff? I installed OMXplayer from your menu and it works fine from command line, but trying to install the TBOPlayer it seems to want to start an X session of some description and the $display isn't set or anything. Is ...

GUI for OMXPlayer

I have OMXPlayer running fine on my Pi so I can play videos from the command line However, what I'd really like to do is have some sort of client GUI that I could run from my phone or tablet to play video files on the monitor (not on the phone/tablet) Is there anything available that fits the bill? ...

Re: PiCenter - A lightweight launcher for omxplayer

I have OMX Player working on my Pi and I can play videos from the command line but it's a pain. Something like a lightweight graphical interface would be brilliant

However, I've installed PiCenter as advised and when I run it, it just says
Segmentation Fault
Any ideas?

Re: NetGear WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 Atheros AR9271 chipset

Jackpot... No idea why the apt-get couldn't find the Atheros firmware - I am online and it found the USB-Modeswitch package without any issues (and all other apt-gets I've done) Anyway - downloading the deb manually and installing it with dpkg -i seems to have worked Rebooted and the LED is on and i...

NetGear WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 Atheros AR9271 chipset

Has anyone got this Netgear wireless dongle working on Raspbian? The Pi recognises it is plugged n and lsusb command tells me Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9030 NetGear, Inc. WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 [Atheros AR9271] I then noticed when it boots, the syslog says Oct 23 20:52:33 squeezePI kernel: [ 3.371...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Seems that it needs Atheros Linux wireless drivers. This page http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/ath9k_htc seems to have all the info you need. Good luck! Thanks for that! I downloaded the driver for ath9k_htc and put it in the /lib/firmware/ folder as described Do I need to do something els...

The Edimax looks exactly like a branded N150 - in fact the Maplin site lists it as an Edimax N150 - the picture and spec are identical

Ah OK - maybe I'll try and get mine swapped out, the nano version is about £10 more expensive for some reason! Do you know if it supports 5ghz? The standard version supports only 2.4ghz

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

I'm curious about the Wireless stick – I have a Netgear N150, so when you say it "works out of the box" do you have some simple instructions for installing it with the SP image? At the moment I have the Pi ethernet hard-wired to my router but a working wireless connection would be a godsend! Any he...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

I have a 512mb RPi and it is certainly a lot more responsive and reliable so far than the 256mb GoFlex Net that I was using previously

I didn't realise that there was something additional to be setup regarding the memory - are there any further details available for this that I can investigate?

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Hi Is there a list of recommended USB Wifi adapators for the RPi to use with Squeezeplug which are plug'n'play? Would prefer one that's not dependent on a powered USB hub :) I like this one very much: Netgear N150 Wireless USB Microadapter Works out of the box! I finally got my Pi yesterday and had...
