Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Awesome, that means I could connect my NAS disk directly to Odroid via USB rather than via a SAMBA share on the NAS server.

That should be quicker disk access right? Both NAS and Pi are ethernet hard-wired to my router

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Thanks - I suspected as much. The Odroid page is a bit misleading as they state here: http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=5585 Re: Maximum power over USB ? Postby odroid » Thu Jul 10, 2014 8:29 pm Normaly we can use a keyboard, a mouse and a 2.5inch USB-HDD without external power supply .

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

I'm planning to get on Odroid U3 to run Squeezeplug - does the Odroid power a 2.5" USB HDD connected via the USB (without external power)?

I use Squeezeplug - I've got about 70,000 mp3s. Speed is not lightning quick but certainly better than any other dlna server I've tried

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Thanks for the tip on the latest update Thomas. I will try that later today. As I mentioned in my earlier post I have been looking at the database performance on the PI, and seen a few suggestions that I could look at. However, I thought it might be worth asking Thomas first if he has ever considere...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

I'm pretty sure that it's not a problem with the Samba share! The last days I did some tests with an Odroid U3 device. It's a very promising 1,7 GHz Quad Core, 2GB RAM device. I'm using an eMMC card, coming with the device. Following the vendor, this card is about 6 times faster than an class 10 SD...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Never touch a running system! There is no relevant performance improvement, as far as I know! I've eliminated a lot of bugs, now use the actual community Rasbbpian image and so on! If the old image is running well for you, keep it as it is! Thomas Good advice, but I picked up a cheap Class 10 4GB S...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Hi Thomas I've been happily running Squeezeplug 5 for well over a year, and I've had no major issues. Is it worth me getting a new SD card and trying Version 7? I don't run any of the client stuff (Squeezelite etc), just LMS and MiniDLNA (because the LMS DLNA server is useless for videos and photos ...

Re: YouTube playback from web UI

Finally got this working. 1st issue was that I already had youtube-dl installed in a different directory. I had to move it to within youtupi to get the downloads & playing working Now I have a question - is it possible to hardcode the default quality of youtube? It seems to be set at 720 but that ca...

Question on optimising SAMBA share for Squeezeplug: Got my music library on a NAS that is hard-wired to my router. Cheers for the comments on that Android App - I'd not noticed any of those things yet, but they make sense. Compared to Juggler's app it doesn't look like ass, it looks quite nice...haha

I'll try out your project too and see how it goes

Re: web-based omxplayer remote for smartphones

For Android there is an App that does just this without needing Python and Webserver on your Pi. You just put your IP, username/passwd and video folder into the app and it does the rest https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... mote&hl=en Your app does pretty much what Juggler's application does, ...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Is it possible to run Squeezeplug and Raspbmc on the same Pi (assuming that I wouldn't actively use both at the same time so resources would not be in direct contention)?

If so what would be the easiest way to achieve this?

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Sounds a good idea to me too. The first thing i did with my Pi was load the Squeezeplug image - because that was the main thing I wanted to use it for. As I then began to dig deeper and look at other apps to run (realising that it could do so much more than run Squeezeplug) it became obvious that a ...

Re: HOWTO: YouTube on the Raspberry Pi - sans X B-)

If you are using HDMI then the file needs to say mplayer = subprocess.Popen( ['omxplayer', '-ohdmi', url.decode('UTF-8').strip()], stdout = subprocess.PIPE, stderr = subprocess.PIPE) mplayer.wait() Alternatively - can you try and connect via the composite to SCART see if your output is coming that w...

Re: HOWTO: YouTube on the Raspberry Pi - sans X B-)

How is your screen connected? HDMI or Composite?

You have to make sure the command to output via omxplayer is pointed at the right output.

Everything you describe is normal - except the video should appear on your screen :)

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Blame the iphone! Haha In all seriousness, it might be a caching issue with the app? How do you have images set up in the LMS config? Can't remember which screen it's in but there is somewhere in the admin screens where you can set up how external players cache (or not) the artwork. On my Android ta...

Re: Omx player

If you don't get the video and it keeps just saying "have a nice day" then it might be that your memory split is no good. I had that error when I only had 16mb of the RAM dedicated to GPU

Do you know what memory split you are running? I upped mine to 128mb for GPU and OMX player started working

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Thomas - been meaning to mention this for a while, but the OMXPlayer bit of your setup script doesn't work unless you have enough memory allocated to the GPU. OMXplayer won't run As your default setting is for the minimum GPU, it doesn't work - probably worth putting some help text in there somewher...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Quick question on the Squeezeplug image – how does LMS serve the web pages on port 9000? Does it have an embedded web server? I just added the Apache2 package to my Squeezeplug image for another use, and Squeezebox seems to be a lot less stable (much more buffering and wireless disconnects) since I ...

I can control omxplayer on the pi (attached to my TV) via a web page on the tablet and/or phone

can you tell us what is on line 50 of the /etc/fstab file?

I have the almost identical setup to you (goflex net drive with my library on it) and I have it working fine
