Re: Raspberry Jam in Cambridge on 14th July

Thanks James, Alan and everyone else who organised this - it was a great day, nice to see lots of new and familiar faces and a real shame that I couldn't hang around.

Re: First impression

I've highligted the parts that I see and take from the message, ignoring the noise inbetween... It is perhaps this selectiveness that is causing problems. The full sentence was: Our attitude and response to those different classes of customers is different, but we do not believe that any of them is...

It is not the place to air grievances or complaints about RS or Farnell (or anyone else for that matter). Such posts will be locked or removed. Constructive feedback is, as always, welcome.

Re: One of *those* days...

Did you find anything worthwhile to do with it once jailbroken? I have to admit I haven't bothered getting root on mine, though the mupdf-based https://github.com/hwhw/kindlepdfviewer looks worth playing with. I hacked mine solely because I couldn't stand Emily Dickinson's dead-shark eyes staring a...

Projects>Cases is for sharing projects and ideas; asking questions; getting feedback; collaborating; showing off. I imagine that one could even have a spirited debate about the finer points of case design.

Pi Shoppe>Cases for sale is for selling cases.

Re: Greatest game of all time

The only shocker about Aeris' death was that a mainstream game had taken so long to start to "catch up" with literature and film in such repsects (although, of course, video games were actually doing this way before the Final Fantasy VII crowd bewailingly claimed it as their own :)). I'm guessing th...

Re: Happy 100th Birthday Alan Turing

... I do hate the googlism of celebrating the "birthday" of people who are deceased. Nowt to do with Google - most people I know (myself included) who have close friends and relatives who are dead raise a glass to them on the day that they were born. If you have to pick an anniversary to celebrate ...

Re: Happy 100th Birthday Alan Turing

I'm surprised that none of the Brits mentioned this, so, leave it to a Yank to bring it up :D That's because it wasn't his birthday till today :D. So happy birthday Alan! The word "genius" seems to be used pretty lightly these days but Turing was a true genius and a very modest chap by all accounts...

Oo, excellent. Is this the Scep Jnr to whom I owe a plush horse called Snowflake, or the other one?
The other one! (He drew the baddie in my avatar - I'm not sure that plush horses feature that much in his current worldview :))

Top tips:
1) Don't make your very first posts to complain about the old chestnuts such as price, availability, shipping, and 'better' alternatives, and at the same time praise the forum community ;)
2) Keep it civil Urgenus, whatever your views.

Closing.

Beautiful, a top bit of machining and the best case I've seen so far (not keen on the blast-finish though, a bit too Amstrad silver plastic for my liking  . Naked ally or perhaps anodised would be perfect IMO... )
