You could also reduce the number of colors to 256 with the "-depth 8" parameter.

maybe I just need to change the way my infinite loop is made infinite. currently I use while(1){...} Is there a way to react for example to a keypress without waiting for userinput? Re: Create/Modify Keyboard Shortcuts?

I dont know how to make shortcuts, but I know something else.

If you write "sleep 10;" before your "scrot" command ( on the same line, note the semicolon ) you then have 10 seconds to minimize the terminal window before scrot takes a picture.

How can I close the program from the terminal ? How can I switch between tasks from the terminal ? To exit a running program in a terminal you enter Ctrl+C. What do you really mean by "switch" ? There is a lot to learn about job-control in bash ( the shell you use in LXterminal ). http://web.mit.ed...

I have a working Qt5/Webkit2 method that will give you accelerated fullscreen browser. Install Qt5 and Webkit from the repo at http://twolife.be/raspbian. ( you probably need libqt5-declarative-bin and libqtwebkit5-dev to run my example below ) Create this test.qml file. import QtQuick 2.0 import Qt...

http://elinux.org/RPi_raspi-config#memo ... mory_split

The Memory Split is RasPi specific, see link above how to check it and change it with raspi-config.

If you used wget then the file itself is most likely correct.

Re: Sixpair.c Compiling Error

It doesn't necessarily mean that you did something wrong. An internal compiler error could just mean that, a bug in the compiler. It could also mean: * Out of memory, what is the memory-split on you Pi, you might try to change the memory split while you try to compile. * Some error in the source fil...

Re: This plugin does not support propagateSizeHints()

That is how Qt5 works on the Pi by following the most common guides. Your program will by default use the EGLFS backend and render to the whole screen. It will basically behave more like a phone-app than a desktop-application. But your app will have proper hw-acceleration. Qt5 supports several rende...

I have a PS2->USB converter from Rockfire and that is automatically detected by linux and works in mame4all, so yes it *can* work.

"grub2" is a bootloader for i386 platform (and PowerPC and UltraSparc according to wiki) with BIOS I believe, a Raspberry Pi has neither.

Try to connect ssh using Putty to public ip adress:443 -> not working. (maybe I should use a port>1024 ?) What is the "remote control" ?
Are we talking about a standard IR remote here ?

Why would you send control signals from/vis the AppleTV if you can talk directly to the XBMC on the pi instead ?

Yes I have tried one reader, which was basically an USB interface for the pn531 NFC chip from NXP. Not sure if whis reader is awailable on the market any more. Most likely you can find something based on later models (pn532/3). I do have a reader from ACR also, but havent tried it. The pn532 reader ...
