Re: Installing drivers for WiFi antenna

To provide better answers we would need to know exact chip model in that wifi adapter. - Boot Pi without the adapter connected. - then plug in the adapter. - then run the following commands in a terminal and post the result here: lsusb dmesg | tail Also good for us to know which version of Raspbian ...

Dbus is often started together with the Desktop/X-server. Is the desktop loaded when you run the script manually ?

Re: Uninstall opencv whitout build folder

Have you programmed with OpenCv while it has been installed ? if all the includes in the C code used "include <opencv/something.h>" I think its likely to assume there is a subdirectory under "/usr/local/include" where all of the files was installed. Potentially the same under "/usr/local/lib" either...

Can you drag the chrome window (or any other window) with the mouse from one screen to the other ? Did you try this ? If its just an extended desktop I wound expect it to be "to the right of" or "below" the main deskop. Since the second screen is showing the desktop-background it should be under co...

There are tools called "rpi-fbcp" and "raspi2fb" which purpose is to copy image from one screen to another. -- https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=104296&start=25 -- https://github.com/AndrewFromMelbourne/raspi2fb This assumes that the drivers for the display sets it up as a Linu...

Re: Launch Chromium browser on second display?

Can you drag the chrome window (or any other window) with the mouse from one screen to the other ? Each X-server ( :0 , :1 etc. ) can have sub displays.. you address those with adding another number. See how these commands work. DISPLAY=:0.0 xeyes DISPLAY=:0.1 xeyes Edit: xeyes are just a small app ...

Re: videodownloader where the put the mp4

Does anyone knows where videodownloader put the files on the disk. Most of us probably dont know what "videodownloader" is. I'm guessing you are talking about a plugin to Chrome or Firefox, but I might be wrong. Running the command "find . -a -name *.mp4" in a terminal will search for files in your...

Re: Uninstall opencv whitout build folder

Now I should uninstall.. Why do you think that ? Most likely you will find the OpenCV stuff under "/usr/local" that is usually where "make install" will choose to install unless you have specified somewhere else during the "configure" stage. So "/usr/local/lib" "/usr/local/include/" and maybe /usr/...

Re: Unmet dependencies

More likely, no one has had tested/adjusted the setup.sh script for Buster yet.. I look at this "pi.sh" and it seems to refer to libcurl4-openssl-dev now, so maybe run the "wget" again to update pi.sh. install_dependencies() { sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get -y install git gcc cmake build-essential...

While the question is usually asked in the context of a Pi, the answers are not Pi specific because the...

Re: Java code to android app?

I don't think you can.. while you can program Android with the Java language that does not mean its compatible with the JRE ( Java run-time environemt ) that we use on PC's. Java libraries are quite different from Android libraries.

Re: Booting into a java app without a full OS

If the Java APP has a GUI it needs to render that UI on something. Simplest way is to use X-windows, but you can start your app in "kiosk-mode" so that you dont need to load the "desktop". That saves on memory and resources. You can either use the full Raspbian OS and just disable automatic boot to ...

Re: BT-Q1000x GPS gives NO FIX with cgps but works with gpsmon

Code: Select all

$GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,*1E
gpsd is not producing any location info because you dont have a "lock".

Code: Select all

$GPGSV,1,1,00*79
Also the GPS can not see ANY satellites.. so either connect the antenna or take the GPS out of your bunker.

So I want to use Adafruit’s servo bonnet, a few other bonnets and a couple of sensors with my raspberry pi zero. Re: BT-Q1000x GPS gives NO FIX with cgps but works with gpsmon

Can you post some output (10 seconds or more) from the "gpspipe -w" command ? Maybe put it on a pastebin site and link it.

Code: Select all

$GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,*1E
You need this line to have "A,3" and a list of satellite numbers to have a proper position lock.

Being prepared for a full reinstall is something everyone should be, an SD card can break at any time.
Having done it before and noting down all the necessary steps is a great exercise.

Re: Buster can't play MPG2?

"decoding" and "rendering" are two different things, if you don't set up the rendering pipeline correctly it doesn't matter how fast you do the decoding.
I'm pretty sure smooth playback of MPEG2 on earlier Pi models also depended on using the GPU correctly for fullscreen rendering.

I can't find information about it. Be more specific what "it" is. There is nothing different about transferring data between two units on a LAN or over internet, just less firewalls to worry about.
