Re: Configure Raspberry pi to run application on start

There are ( IMO ) two reccomended ways to autostart a python app with GUI. a: LXDE autostart - Simplest to implement, slowest to start since the whole Desktop with menus and icons will load. Recent thread on the topic: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=248348 b: Xinit kiosk - A...

Re: How to make an android app communicate with the Pi via bluetooth

Personally I would try to use existing apps for the phone.. for example Tasker. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.giechaskiel.ilias.bluetoothserialfromtasker&hl=en https://www.androidcentral.com/hands-free-automation-tasker-and-autovoice-part-1 For the Pi part... https://circuitdiges...

Re: Best method of deployment

Would you want the devices to also automatically update Raspbian packages ?
And the devices are expected to have stable internet access ?

My preferred solution would be .deb packages and maybe combine with "pkgsync" ( https://packages.debian.org/unstable/admin/pkgsync )

Re: Trouble Auto starting Program

Since you Qt program has a GUI ( I guess ) it is the LXDE autostart method you should focus on. This guide is old, but it seems it was updated not too long ago. ( also read the comments ) https://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2014/05/how-to-autostart-apps-in-rasbian-lxde-desktop/ So if you had tried tha...

Re: [TUTORIAL] How to launch pyqt script using ssh

If someone more knowledgeable than me can add some extra details as to why that work that would be appreciated. It works because all X programs need to know which X-server it should connect to and you tell that either by specifying it as a commandline option or as the environment variable DISPLAY. ...

More info can be seen in the output from "dmesg" after you plug them in. There we can see which driver are being used for example.

Re: connection doens't return after router reboot

Using DHCP ? You could try with a static IP address.

You could compare the output of "ip addr" before and after the router reboot. Also can you ping the router from the Pi after reboot ?
I lose connection to the pi
You loose connection from another computer to the Pi ? On the same LAN ?

Sounds like you forgot to spawn off the first chromium in the background by adding a "&" at the end of the command line.

Re: Cross-compiling and ncurses

Using a "sysroot" during cross-compilation means that you have a local copy of all the include files and libraries that are installed on the target system. You can copy these directories from a running Pi or you can extract them from a Raspbian image. There are even ways to install new packages on t...

Re: rtsp stream on pi4

The imshow function throws the error because the "frame" object probably doesnt contain anything... so its the cap.read() that fails.

( btw: if the ip-address of the camera is private ( 192.168.x.x / 10.x.x.x / 172.x.x.x ) you dont have to mask it... )

Re: Cross-compiling and ncurses

Are you cross compiling from Windows or Linux ?

Do you intend to cross-compile for Raspbian ?

How are your crosscompiler configured ? Did you use a raspbian image to extract libraries/include files etc. ?

Re: rtsp stream on pi4

We cant suggest solution because we have no idea what is wrong..
- We dont know what code or programs you are running..
- we dont know where in the pipe the problem is..
- we have no error codes or messages to relate to..

We're not psychic.. ( at least I am not )

You should put your code in [ code ] tags so we can see correct indentation. Python is mainly unreadable without it.

Also maybe explain what you mean with "interfere".

There is this device: https://auvidea.eu/b101-hdmi-to-csi-2-bridge-15-pin-fpc/ Which is a HDMI input that uses the CSI ( pi camera ) connector, but its a bit limited for resolution support and it is not very cheap either because its not a product for the mass market.
