This showed the problem: the quotation marks around the ssid and psk values I entered weren't quotation marks. They were a square blob instead. Well, that would explain the connection fail...but WTH? If RPT is not the importer then I would not expect to see RPT there - but the official importer should be there.

But take care if you have made modifications to the original code.
A mechanism for keeping end-user changes separate to the Google code so that it is less likely to break in an update has been worked on but not yet accepted into the official code.

piCorePlayer (pCP) included option to install LMS on RPi as well - works very well.
The developer of the new "Spotty" plugin did it in his spare time but is a Logitech employee.

i.e. Using piCorePlayer turns your RPi into a Squeezebox and will work fine with your existing set-up including sync.

The first Direwolf I found via a Google search is packet radio software.
Not the sort of thing K would expect to find on a default Raspbian build.

I've not tried Strech yet but I did read that networking interface names have changed (default at least).
So wlan0 possibly no longer correct until you made you edits.

The attack is based on buffer overflow in the firmware for the device.
The blackhat posting gives an example of a/the memcopy call that was subject to the overflow that could be exploited.
I think that someone from RPF, while jamesh is away, should be getting this checked.

The audio quality from the analogue socket has greatly wimproved over the years ... so if you have not tried it yet then you should give it a listen (assuming you are running relatively recent firmware / OS).

Also - if you are trying to cater for situation where burglar turns of the power to the building ... then you will also need to consider how the email will get out. Eg could be a 2G/3G/POTS modem attached to Pi and also powered by UPS. Might be enough to simply show that this has a solution but too ...

For SSH into RPi with this problem try editing /etc/ssh/sshd_config (as root - e.g. sudo nano \etc\ssh\sshd_config and add this on a new line at the end IPQoS cs0 cs0 Since you cannot ssh in then attach local keyboard and screen to do the edit. One reason for doing this would be the built-in floppy drive going faulty and another would be a fear of not being able to source new floppy disks in the future.
