Re: Eben Upton on BBC Radio 4 "The Life Scientific"

Given there was quite a lot spoken about BBC not wanting to take it on ... I would have asked about BBC micro:bit that came out later and late) and is aimed directly at schools (with a huge giveaway to get it started. eg was it the success of RPi that dragged BBC back into this arena? From their sit...

Re: Compute Module

I'm thinking of making a media center out of this, like Slice http://fiveninjas.com/index.html Is it hard to make stuff with the module? To get an idea of how hard it is, take a look at the public information (e.g. About and Forum pages) on the fiveninjas site. Their objective was different to your...

Good news.

Regarding HDMI CEC ... if you want to know some more about it and in particular how software support for it arrived in RPi you might like to read through an old message thread that I started here in January 2012!

Will be on 16th Jan. Interview by Professor Jim Al-Khalili Series has been running for a few years. Re: PiServer, RPi3 setup. Raspbian locked down. How to install apps?

This is a guess but is based on the answer I received to a question I asked on the original announcement blog post. I think that you update the server images by using chroot to get inside the image on the server. There is a script in PiServer that gives some clues. See https://www.raspberrypi.org/bl...

It should have been possible with OSMC.
Did you try installing TVHeadend from the OSMC App Store (via the OSMC GUI?

If yes, was your TV tuner card recognised?

Does Kore provide local playback of content from Kodi?

If not - you could look at enabling UPnP-AV server capability in Kodi and then use a UPnP player on Android.

Re: Issue with HDMI Adapter

I had the issue with HDMI adapter recently. Was a white one sold as compatible with Pi Zero.
My solution was to use a sharp craft knife to cut away a few mm of plastic on the adapter.
Obviously needs to be done carefully because of risk of cutting finger - but worked perfectly for me.

You might get some help on http://forums.slimdevices.com
An alternative and very simple approach would be to run LMS on your spare Raspberry Pi and tell the Boom to access that.

Re: Network request to TV works from any device but Raspberry Pi

Maybe the various quotation marks or other symbols are causing issues.
Try searching for other curl command line examples that people say work on Linux and have various quotation marks throughout.

Last one for MPEG2 expires in Feb 2018 according to
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of ... -2_patents
which, if correct, could mean that RPT can ship with it enabled from then on.

Something like /usr/bin/python

This showed the problem: the quotation marks around the ssid and psk values I entered weren't quotation marks. They were a square blob instead. Well, that would explain the connection fail...but WTH? My guess is that you created the supplicant file on a different machine and used an editor that use...

Re: Can't SSH to rasperry Pi with public ip address

Some acronyms and terms in this reply but you should be able to look them up for more detail. At home you are behind a NAT router. You would have to setup port forwarding on the router to direct your SSH traffic to your RPi. However, as soon as you do that you can also expect automated scripts that ...

Should be listed in the RMC database at
https://equipment.erac.gov.au/Registrat ... atn=public
but I don’t see it.
If RPT is not the importer then I would not expect to see RPT there - but the official importer should be there.

My brief reading about RCM makes me think that it is only the importer who can apply for It.
