Re: just stopped working

Are you booting with the HDMI connected if not it will not display through HDMI.

Is power dropping out? Wireless connection or wired? Need a bit more info on setup. Can you ssh into the Pi when it is non responsive. When rebooted what error are you seeing.

Re: SD formatter

If it's the first time using the card reader in the laptop you might want to check their website for updated drivers typically with stock image drivers they can have issues. Since your machine can't see the card properly assuming you can't see it in My Computer I would try that if you can see it in ...

Confused as well but try a camera if you have one. Look through the menu if it doesn't auto prompt to format the card.

Re: Problem numbering still filenames

I think this

Code: Select all

raspistill -o still_%04d.jpg -t 999999999 -tl 10000
Should be

Code: Select all

raspistill -o still_%d_04.jpg -t 999999999 -tl 10000
Think it's just %d but not able to test right now this should put 04.jpg at the end of filename remove _04 if you don't want that naming. Hope it helps and works.

Re: SD Card corruption, how to determine cause?

Most likely cause is loss of power during boot up or shut down. Typically not caused by the power supply.

First step to trouble shoot is how do you shut down when do you remove power from the pi (wait until the green led flashes in series)

Good day to one and alll! Firstly, apologies if my questions have been asked and answered, I have looked, but probably didn't understand! Re: Additional USB, LAN, Serial ports

Nice find going to have to keep my eye on your progress. At around $25 in the US it still seems quite a deal especially if everything works sound (No mic ) and Ethernet would be nice to have instead of swapping out all the cables just unplug the USB and put in another Pi.

I like Xming but the more popular would probably be MobaXTerm so the short answer is you need something beyond an SSH client instructions can be found here Moba is as the very bottom http://www.raspians.com/knowledgebase/h ... and-putty/

Re: Transfer MPEG-2 Licenses?

Unfortunately there is no way to disable the codecs on one pi to transfer to the other. The codes are specific to the serial number of the Pi. The closest you could ever get is to have 2 Pi with the same serial numbers which I think are limited to 1 million.

Re: Overheating WiFi?!

Not sure about it overheating hot to the touch and overheating causing it to crash are different issues. 70c for the LAN USB chip I believe is the hottest it can go 85c for the CPU at those ranges it would be too hot to touch. Likely transmissions are locking it up. Try usb hub, or download fresh im...

Re: FM Transmitter with Python - Is it safe?

I think without knowing how hot or where it was getting hot it is hard to tell. the chips can get to 80ish C. Off the top around 75c for Lan and 85c for the GPU typically the GPU is reported around 60c or so from various apps like XBMC. With that I think you probably touched it and got worried but t...
