Re: Problem installing Wireless Adapter

First of all, sorry if this is an inappropriate place to post this; I couldn't find something more relevant in the hardware section. I purchased the Realtek RTL8188CUS wireless adapter from The Pi Hut. I've got all the files for the Linux driver installation off the provided disk but when running t...

Re: SSH from Pi

Possibly better off with XBMC builds to accomplish it. http://www.raspbmc.com/wiki/user/addon-support/ or OpenElec either should provide a much better experience viewing videos from YouTube or a remote share.

Different memory chips could do it. If all are Hynix and one is Samsung an older image might have a problem. http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/3534

Re: java getting real ip addres

Just a guess but I think it is just reading the info from the host file something like InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostAddress().toString() or InetAddress.getHostAddress().toString() This was helpful to me import java.net.UnknownHostException; /** * Simple Java program to find IP Address of localh...

Suggestion to auto load NOOBS if it hasn't been asked.

So for a completely headless setup with NOOBS won't it just sit at the screen asking for user input. If so my thought was: What about the possibility of NOOBS to start the process after a timed interval to auto install Raspbian. Optionally add: The ability to get an IP if possible (Wired only probab...

Re: is my pi broken :(

Are you using minepeon? this is completely headless setup. You have no monitor available to connect to the Pi? If so I would really try and get a screen to see if anything is going on when powered up. All you need is a screen and keyboard attached if that works go on from there. But likely Ethernet ...

Re: How to Auto start a python script that uses GPIO tx/rx p

If I have it right. To answer the question anything in the directory /etc/init named xxx.conf will load when the machine boots it basically just points to your python file and says start this file when the pi boots. (Like the Start Up folder in Windows if your familiar with it.) the respawn at the e...

Re: Could I connect the Raspberry Pi to use my HTC Thunderbo

Only if the device has input for Video. Basically if you can plug a DVD player, VCR or the like into the device and watch them the Pi will work the same. As far as ssh and remotely if it supports such features and you can remote into any computer in your house then it will likely work with the Pi (A...

http://cs.r2games.com/faq I am assuming it's Flash which isn't available. Support site shows Flash, Java and the likes. My thoughts are not playable 2Ghz processor compared to Pi at around 300Mhz. :(

Re: Help with wifi adapter

Does the router have MAC Filtering
Are you using a powered hub
Are you using the GUI to set it up.

Can't really say step by step how to make it work. If you can see networks and attempt to connect it should then connect after that it would be a power or setting issue most likely.

I want to run them mining from my mac. Your planning on mining from your MAC? The point of plugging them into the Pi is. Re: Pi Getting Hot???

If I sold heat sinks for the Pi I would possibly make statements like that as well. 1 penny in copper sold at $2 hmm. The statement is vague. Electricity kills electronic components. User error is the number one cause of dead Pi. You love your Pi so never touch it and don't plug it in. I don't blame...

Re: Minecraft/Spigot breaks my SD cards?

Doubt the setup is doing anything out of the ordinary. Guess would be improper shutdown, overclocking, try 32 for memory, different SD Card, improper power when the server gets going it needs more power if it's weak on the high end it could cut out. The lack of any light but green means it can't fin...

If you used Windiskimager insert the SD click read this will make a full backup of the 4Gb card. Then insert the 8GB card and choose the file you just created then write the image. Boot up and run sudo raspi-config and resize image to full 8Gb.
