If you are using the latest Raspbian "wheezy" http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads After configuring and rebooting and logging in, type at the command line, press enter key after each entry lsusb ..if the USB devices have been recognised then carry on sudo su apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade sync...

I have no issues with ICS on my XP Laptop WiFi to Internet

I have no issues with Lubuntu Desktop Wifi to Ethernet

I have been using ICS since XP appeared and prior to that AnalogX Proxy, even gave an MS-DOS PC Ethernet Internet Connection via ICS :mrgreen:

Are the downloads compatible with ARMv6 architecture ?

Did you download them from the Raspbian ( if that is the Operating System you have installed ) repository ?

The latest version of Raspbian "wheezy" supports common USB WiFi Adaptors http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals

My recommendation would be to not use XP's built in Internet connection sharing. It usually creates more problems than it solves.
