Re: Usb on rpi doesn't have power what to do?

Let's go back to basics, Noobs is not something you install - it is the image. Reflash your card with Noobs and startup the Pi with keyboard only plugged in. If working properly the system will boot to the menu screen where you pick which O/S to install. If the keyboard is working properly, you shou...

Re: Usb on rpi doesn't have power what to do?

It sounds like possibly the mouse and keyboard are not paired with the USB adaptor. Does the keyboard have a small round button on the bottom that you would have to push to pair the keyboard with the USB adaptor ? The mouse will not emit any light (i.e. optical) unless it is actively getting a reque...

Re: Issue with VGA adapter on computer monitor

You haven't given enough information. Did the Pi work and stop working ? How are editing the configuration file if you can't see the Pi ? Passive vs Active HDMI adapters should not matter. These adapters are known to work without issue Generic http://bit.ly/1cLSahM Pi view http://bit.ly/1i06ybh The ...

Re: Place to buy "genuine" Raspberry Pi in USA?

Newark Electronics and MCM Electronics as well as Allied Electronics are the "Official" distributors of the Pi in The USA and Canada. All other resellers get their boards from one of these three. Newark and MCM are also part of the Element 14 group. You can safely purchase from any of these places a...

Re: Repeating Keyboard Characters

All, In order to test the current being supplies by the power supply. You can simply use a multimeter set to measure DC voltages and apply the Red lead to TP2 (by the composite video jack) and the Black lead to TP1 ( by the Power port) . That will give you a readout of the voltage from boot up to de...

Re: USB Powered Hub Help

I received this same hub as a gift for Christmas (purchased with a Pi and a bunch of Pi accessories) and have been trying to get it to work ever since (no luck). Can I get a refund or a swap for a hub that is compatible if it has been more than 30 days? I thought it was just my lack of knowledge th...

Re: USB Powered Hub Help

We finally got the hub up from our warehouse, we had originally tested the hub with the 256MB Model B board and it passed without issue. We are seeing the same issue in that the keyboard and mouse are not recognized. Strangely enough a USB drive worked without issue. At any rate we will remove that ...

Re: USB Wifi Dongles and Power Usage

The Iogear GWU625 wifi dongle is working with the Debian Distro. It works fine using the USB ports on board or through a hub. MCM's Raspberry Pi guy has written some great instructions for getting it up and running. Check it out here http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/83-12369
