Camera ready PiZero at Microcenter

for those lucky enough to live near a Microcenter (in-store only) it looks like the PiZero has landed (at least in NY/NJ stores). it's still one per household

Re: Raspberry Pi 'community'

Rive had received warnings which he didn't respond to for some other stuff - which you won't have seen, of course. And his responses to EihmGhey (I may be misspelling that), which I am hoping most of you did not see, because I deleted them, were appalling. They were incredibly offensive to other pe...

Re: In the public interest: My error?

These posts are making lots of work for the mods as they keep getting reported and as a volunteer I don't have time to keep monitoring them as I already spend up to 18 hours a day moderating so locking and please don't start any more along the same lines as they all get reported as dupes and if you ...

Locking because afaik there are 250,000 currently being assembled and they should be out in the wild shortly (how long shortly is I don't know but less than in a while and longer than immediately)

My advice to anyone in the same position: don't volunteer. Men's hockey is a gentleman's game. Women's hockey isn't. I played on the mixed hockey team for my college (we came 2nd in several regional tournaments :) ) and the girls were vicious and the girls from agricultural colleges the most viciou...

Re: Official Pi Display question

it looks like the official Pi 7" display from the picture/description in which case it will work with a Pi3B. I used the official display on my Pi3B for a few weeks with no problem before I moved it back to a Pi2B

[note I powered the display and Pi separately ]

Re: Where can I but the raspberry pi 3 in the US

The only way to get one without shipping is to live near a Microcenter store that has them in stock (most do) otherwise you'll have to order online from Adafruit, mcmelectronics, etc. and pay shipping

Re: The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Q&A thread

Sombody knows if it is possible to run a 2.5 external HDD in the new Raspberry Pi 3 from the box or we need to change /boot/config.txt and add max_usb_current=1?? Or maybe if is not possible we need to buy an external usb hub? I don't know about an off the shelf setup but i've been using a pidrive ...

Pi 3B coming soon to Microcenter

Those of us lucky enough to live near a Microcenter store in the States will soon be able to buy the Pi3 over the counter.

[i asked earlier and was told expected next week although i think that's only hoped rather than set in stone]

Re: The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Q&A thread

Will the Raspberry PI 7 [inch screen] work on PI 3? I recently bought one, And i'm wondering if can I upgrade my PI to 3, but i've no idea if will it work with that screen The 7" screen should be 100% compatible with a RPi3. If my RPi3 arrives tomorrow I'll be able to confirm that (as my 2B will go...

elastic cobol is quite nice but i only tried it a few times as i prefer to use GnuCOBOL on my raspberry pi's which I use for mucking around and twiddling GPIO etc. I'd recommend not getting it as open-cobol from the repo's but get the 2.0 branch from the GnuCOBOL svn and building it yourself as the ...

I've just checked the various USA based stores and can't find that adapter unfortuneatly but i can vouch for pi-supply sending stuff to the USA. I've had a few things sent from then with no problem and averages between three to seven business days to get here

Perhaps it would be helpful to the OP (and others considering applying for any putative 2016-17 course) if someone could describe what they did last time they don't "graduate" until April so that info won't be available until then although i think a couple tweeted their application video's but not ...
