Re: Flick demo's won't run

the installer should have enabled i2c but that would be the 1st thing i'd check (after checking that the flick board is installed correctly e.g. the pins are lined up correctly and the board is pushed down enough) sudo raspi-config then go to interfacing options then select i2c and enable and after ...

Re: Does Ethernet gadget mode still work on Raspberry Pi Zer

YMMV but i've found the only way I can get gadget mode to work for a freshly made sd card is to either do the 1st boot & let the resize happen, power off and then edit the config.txt & cmdline.txt files or remove the resize part of cmdline.txt and resize using raspi-config. I've not heard of others ...

Shouldn't be doing it over VNC but my main Pi2B is headless but quite impressed so far with my quick play with BBCBASIC on the Pi

p.s. a text only version usable over ssh would be nice to have one day :)

personally i've never had a problem using win32diskimager on win10 however i moved over to using resin.io's etcher a while back and had no problems with it at all and I believe that etcher is now the recommended software to use to create sdcards for the Pi on macs, windows & linux

the micro sd slots directly into the Pi however i'd pick up an adapter anyway (50% of store bought micro sd cards come with one in the packaging anyway) as most (all?) desktop/laptop only have an sd card slot and not a micro sd card slot

Re: Where to place non-repository programs?

normally you'd place the program/script itself in /usr/local/bin and anything that it requires in the relevant directory under /usr/local although some people you should use /opt. my personal feelings is if it's installable (make install) it goes in /usr/local if it's untarable (a tarball of binarie...

For some reason I'm having trouble figuring out how to delete those posts - maybe one of the other mods can do it? you have to have dashboard privs and even then i don't think you can edit names. i used to have front page privs but they seem to have been removed a couple of weeks ago so I can't check

Adafruit sell one. their shipping is a bit on the expensive side for single items but if you pick up several things at once it's not too bad.
