Re: Post your estimated arrival dates

Mine from Newark was originally May 11, then moved to April 15, and then to March 30...

Do I honestly think that date is going to hold? Not on your life... But I'm hoping!

<t>Jordy:<br/> <br/> Also, realize that the law ACTUALLY is that if the company you order from doesn't collect the sales tax, then *YOU* technically are supposed to send it in to your state at the end of the year. Relax... They'll just restrict you to only ordering a single one...

Your other spots in line will just go away once you submit your order under the first one.

(or at least, that's the impression we've been given.)

Re: Composite rca

<t>Paul, my understanding is that there isn't a true "sound chip" driving that audio out connector. It's certainly NOT amplified in any way, and it's supposedly just connected to a Pulse Width Modulator output on the Broadcom CPU. As such, it *probably* can only do simple tones and such.<br/> <br/> ...

<t>Really, *IF* it becomes an issue of some boards will have the pins fitted, others won't, then it'll simply be a case of add-on boards will need to supply both male pins and female sockets and you solder in whichever you need based on what you have on your RPi.<br/> <br/> I get what the OP is sayi...

Re: Debian img in qemu, bigger sd image?

<t>Maybe so, but when you're producing an OS that you expect to be used by kids and general population, you KNOW they're not going to do a lot in terms of securing their system, so the more you can do to help them get it that way right from the start, the better. It might be the ONLY security they d...

<t>Right, it's just a break out board for the pins, and a carrier socket for the Xbee radio (you have to supply that yourself.) Xbee acts as / interfaces through a serial connection, so they probably used those lines off the GPIO and exposed/grouped the others for use.<br/> <br/> One thing I'm not s...
