Re: Streaming 'motion' output

Your best change is to use omxplayer since it uses hardware GPU and is fast enough if you get it to work. I am streaming two (640x480@10) mjpeg streams with omxplayer like this: omxplayer --win "0 544 640 1024" --live 'http://192.168.254.212/cgi-bin/nph-zms?monitor=2&maxfps=10&buffer=4000' try if --...

Re: How fast a Raspberry Pi can boot?

We can of course discuss what boot ime is, but I believe most people mean that it is something visible. Like desktop or login prompt or sshd deamon ready to accept connections.

Re: How fast a Raspberry Pi can boot?

How did you reach 16 seconds? My raspi reboots no less than in 32 seconds. 16 needs very heavy tuning? Re: static ip with Class 10 Fails

It is possible that there is a fix in new rasbian or firmware which fixes this. Maybe Class 10 SD card is not working with your Raspbian version.
To proove that it would be a good idea to test with new version of Rasbian.

That does not happen with my pis, so you could try another power source as that is the probable reason for the start.

But it is a fact that you can not turn rpi on with ethernet or hdmi.
Strange that it reboots on its own.

Sounds lke your power source goes down and then up. This way it restarts the rpi. Do you have anything connected to gpios?

Re: The Raspberry Pi 2 Q&A thread

Looking the new 2B+, the power circuits looks different than in B+ and I have learned that it uses a bit more power. Is it now safe to feed for example 6 V to the microUSB or is it still limited to 5V only?

As far as I know arm_freq_min doesn't let you go above stock frequency, so you can't force permanent oveclock with it.

Re: Overclocking Raspberry Pi

Note also that CPU runs as 700MHz until you start giving work for it. So if it is idle you will not see any temperature increase nor effects from the overclocking.

Re: Can the RPi be kept always-on? any standby mode?

I have been running 3 raspis (model B) 24/7 for months. The longest is now over a year. No issues.
There is no standby/hibernate mode for Raspberry (it is hardly needed as it takes so littel power).

Can't you move those sensors a bit away from RPi? 10 cm would probably do.
It is not easy to reduce the heat.

You can see overheating like this and then you might consider heatsinks:
