Re: Pibow and Adafruit low-profile Micro SD adapter

Anybody has hints on case where this adapter fits ? It is abit too thick so that it does not fit into the element14 box either.

Re: RaspBerry format

Adafruit micro sd connector is too thick. It does not fit to any cases. I am just trying to modify the farnell case so that I can use the adafruit sd connector. Not easy.

Re: howto change password

Thanks !! That firefox trick saved my day. I was able to recover the password from that list.

But the other hint really does not work. The lost password link does not send me anywhere. It just says that I have already registered.

howto change password

I have forgotten my password. How can I change it? After logging in it does not allow me to chnage it unless I give the current password, which I can't do as I do not know it. I tried to change it also in the login page, but that just says that I am already registered. How to change/reset my passwor...

Re: New Pi missing D14

My Farnell Pi without D14 and black R0 polyfuses; Shuckle are you overclocking your old Pi? the BogoMIPS score is quite a bit higher than normal.. Yes, my old Pi is "in production" and runs wfrog and is overclocked to arm_freq=850 sdram_freq=500 It has been on for two weeks, so looks very stabil: $...

Re: Benchmarking the Pi in the shell

The new kernel is about 10% faster, so I based my guess to your perf numbers. ;) My results using the new kernel 3.2.27 without overclock(but with the usb patch: dwc_otg.fiq_fix_enable=1): #BogoMIPS : 697.95 real 0m23.727s user 0m23.660s sys 0m0.010s And with overclock: arm_freq=900 sdram_freq=500 g...

Re: Benchmarking the Pi in the shell

You probably have the old kernal 3.1.9? (uname -a tells it)

Here are my results with that kernel:
arm_freq=800
sdram_freq=500
#BogoMIPS : 795.44
real 0m22.501s
user 0m22.140s
sys 0m0.020s

Re: Overclocking

The new kernel version and the usb patch are impressive. :) I did the 2000 test with vanilla rasbian 3.1.9: time echo "scale=2000;4*a(1)" | bc -l real 0m26.488s user 0m26.360s sys 0m0.030s and then again after upgrading to kernel 3.2.27: real 0m25.009s user 0m24.940s sys 0m0.020s and then using the ...

Re: headless model C

Well, the cost difference between model B and A is 10 $ and the only differences are: lack of ethernet and lack of USB hub. As far as I know hdmi is more expensive than ethernet. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI cost section). And those other hardware must cost something, too. So I am not convince...

Re: headless model C

Those extra codecs do not help schools.... I do have bunch of arduinos, but believe me it is not possible to build for example weather station usb front end with the limited memory available in Arduino. Not to mention the camera front-end with gphoto2 already available in linux. And the cost of Beag...

headless model C

Now when we have the perfect display oriented pi after the extra licenses, would it make sense to make a model to the other kind of users? There is quite many people who use the device always in headless mode via ssh for example to interface with Arduino and other robotics and as a front end to all ...
