I see no reason it should cause a problem, the psu i'm going to use for my Pi puts out 5.5v (label states 5v)and although i haven't tried a Pi on it yet (as i don't have one yet) it is charging my iPhone just fine

also check the batteries in the wireless keyboard, i have a microsoft wireless keyboard on my mediacenter (modded with a super capacitor) and when the batteries (or capacitor in my case) start getting low the keyboards becomes very erratic

Looks a little more professional than mine and yeah, that huge transistor gets very hot

Mine still needs a little more testing before i trust it with my phone (or Pi for that matter)

sorta, i have windows 7 on this mbp but only to play games, if it wasn't for that i wouldn't use windows at all (well except for at school), but i have used macs all my life (and have a dislike of windows) even when i use pc hardware i tend to use linux (or osx...)

I agree, the rpi team did awesome, they where there to answer questions and the rpi site didn't crash even once, the rpi team handled everything perfectly (the same cannot be said for rs or farnwell)

I actually got a order in for a rpi (inbetween farnell site crashes and shouting "just take my god damn money!") i don't think it's in the first 10k, but now i don't have to worry about ordering it

is the new stuff really that bad? I have never had any problems with it (well except some really really cheap stuff that was impossible to melt) but then again, i have never used the leaded stuff
