Re: ENC28J60 SPI Ethernet

AIUI you add an entry in config.txt (or possiblly a HAT eeprom) to load the device tree overlay. That overlay tells the kernel to expect an enc28j60 and where to expect it. Then it should just work like any other ethernet controller. Do you know the syntax for it by the way? I notice that in the do...

Ah, my bad, I thought the dts you were refering to in a previous post was the a device tree thing. How are you loading this module right now?

Re: ENC28J60 SPI Ethernet

Good news. The very nice folks who build the kernel are giving us a device tree overlay for the ENC28J60. https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/795 So how does one actually make use of the device tree overlay for the enc28j60? Surely it's not just connect the device to the pi as described abo...

Re: Wireless and Ethernet die together

I know this is an old post, but I am having the same issue, however I'm tempted to believe it to be a routing issue on the PI. Why? Because I can see the Pi wireless associated to my wireless access point, and see the ip address it has been assigned. I can only surmise that it is trying to route ou...

Abishur, I understand what you're saying it 'should' do, but it's not expanding the file system partition to incorporate the given free space. Regards Gary Have you tried doing the expand file system from raspi-config? Can you detail the behavior it exhibits after you ask it to expand the file syst...

Thanks for the info. .....um , why not write that then ;-) The reason we didn't use another name for it is because it's a pretty well accepted term. raspi-config expansion refuses to do anything on NOOBS cards. So your are correct, it will not do any harm... ;) Well... you're kinda mixing up what's going on (You're taking an effect and mistaking it for a cause). Part of the Noobs script is to expand the file system in the same manner as raspi-c...

Abishur, When you try expand the filesystem after Rasbian is installed through NOOBS, it says the filesystem is already expanded. It should only say that provided it has, in fact, expanded the file system. Since the problem is that noobs has not expanded the file system (due to one of the three iss...

And by the way the beam angle from those arrays is something like 140 to 150 degrees. There are very specialised optics which will capture that light and homogenise it, but you don't want to know about the prices. The beam angle was one of the reason I was thinking about a reflector (which was supp...
