Re: STICKY: Bugs and regressions

Hi, I have a Pi 2 that I make games on. I use Scratch 1.4. I am making my own version of space invaders, and when I tried to import sound, or play it in the sounds palette on any sprite, I got no errors or anything that I could see - but the sounds wouldn't play. Then I ran scratch from a terminal, ...

My Pi 2 keeps getting slower. Help!

Hi,
I have a RPi 2 v 1.1, running Raspbian Stretch.
Anyways, I have used it for a little while, and
the speed of the Pi seems to keep getting slower,
and I am left clueless... :?:

Re: STICKY: GAMES LIST: Games That Work On The Pi

Great list!

Just a question though:
have you tried the following game?
Chromium B. S. U.

(sudo apt-get install chromium-bsu chromium-bsu-data)

Please tell me the outcome! :D

What is the difference between SDL, OpenGL, and OpenGLES?

Hi,

Just curious... What is the difference between Simple DirectMedia Library,
OpenGL, and OpenGLES? I see them used a LOT in this forum, and I don't
know what the difference is from one to the other...

Help!

Re: 3d graphics libraries that run on the Pi 2 that aren't slow?

I've done the GLXgears demo fullscreen, and it
seems to run fine on my Pi 2 with 64 MB of GPU
RAM. It still makes about 60 FPS!!! I don't do
much 3d gaming, so OpenGLES's graphics look
fine to me!

Re: 3d graphics libraries that run on the Pi 2 that aren't slow?

Yikes! Things are getting confusing...
I still would like to try open gl es, because
the glxgears openGL test runs at about 60 fps
without anything else running, and open gl es
shoulden't be much worse...

How do I install SDL and PySDL?

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone has successfully installed SDL 2.0 and PySDL on the Raspberry Pi 2 with Debian Stretch. When I tried in Python to: import sdl2.ext Python did this: >>> import sdl2.ext Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/local/lib/pytho...

Great! Thanks a lot. That will
help me make an arcade - I
am not using RetroPie, but I
am going to do a LOT of game
programming in Pygame to make
the games. :!: Then I can run the
program at startup! :D

Re: Arcade coin mechinism workings?

It's too expensive. I've got a VERY small budget, and that would take up more than half of my budget, and then I would still need to get arcade buttons! :( To be honest, i think if you are building an Arcade, you NEED a coin tray. Otherwise good games become boooooring. What's the point of pla...

Is there a Raspbian AUTOEXEC.BAT equivilant?

Hi there,

I am just curious if there is
a linux version of a DOS AUTOEXEC.BAT
file (In other words, a batch file that is
run at startup)? :?

If there is, could you please tell me the
file name and file location of the batch
file? :)

Thanks,

Arcade coin mechinism workings?

Hello there,

I am designing an arcade, and am
curious as to how the official arcade
coin mechanisms work. If you could
tell me the sensors I need (e.g. weight
sensor, distance sensor, color sensor,
etc.) that would be great! :D

Thanks,

Re: 3d graphics libraries that run on the Pi 2 that aren't slow?

Hmm... :? Is there Open GL for Python?
That's where I can actually manage
programming. :( I thought there was some
sort of library, but I'm not sure. If I have to
do 3d game programming in C/C++, I probably
just won't try it.

3d graphics libraries that run on the Pi 2 that aren't slow?

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if there is a such thing
as a 3d graphics library/3d game engine
that isn't slow and laggy and doesn't push a
Pi 2 up to 100% CPU constantly...

Please help!
