Re: Access denied to VNC Server

Have you made a VNC account and logged in to VNC viewer and the raspberry pi? You could use your "team" book and access your Raspberry Pi anywhere.

Re: 1 Watt server challange!

I use a LAMP (wordpress) server on my Raspberry Pi. If you want your web server to be run on a Pi 0, code the website in HTML. Snappy.

The Pi has 100mega bit ethernet. Is your router configured properly?

Yes and is your pi connected to a router? If so , have you set port forwarding on that router?
One of the most common issues.

Port forwarding will need to be done on port 443 for https and port 80 for http. If ssh is required then port 22 will need to be opened as well.

Re: Portable Raspberry pi help

You most likely need a HAT for the battery. I have no experience with powering Raspberry Pi off batteries, but here is a link that may help.

Re: Raspberry pi as packet sniffing tool

Great! I managed to connect two Windows workstation, changing the protocol setting. Now the two computers are connected and communicate, in between there is my Rpi. Now how can I monitor the traffic, I found out something about Wireshark but each suggestion is welcome. Thanks for the great support!...

Multiple ways to do this.

1. Using FTP
2. SFTP
3. Setup the pictures to be uploaded to dropbox
4. Mount the SD card on a linux computer and access the picture directory and grab them.

If I were you I would save the trouble and buy a Rpi power supply from amazon.co.uk. Re: Setting Up Audio in Raspian Stretch

1. Have you tried right clicking on the sound icon in the desktop and choosing 3.5mm jack?
2. Have you tried to force audio out of 3.5mm jack from raspi-config?
3. Reflash SD card?
4. Speakers working?
5. Pi receiving enough power?

Just curious...

Hey, was just wondering if the Pi (ARM) has been paired with a PC/Mac (x86/x64) before? What I mean by this is use a PC + RPi processing power together. (Or Mac + Rpi) The only situation I've seen so far ( haven't really looked into this that much) is using an ARM chip inside a Mac, to be precise th...

Could you provide us with a link to your DVB stick? I had a DVB stick and it was not recognized either. It depends on the quality of the device and how well it is manufactured.

Re: is the pi worth it?

The Raspberry Pi can't replace a laptop for web browsing such as looking at Facebook. Chromium eats RAM so quickly that the 1 GB of RAM on your Pi will just not be enough. Watching youtube? You are going to have to supply more memory to the GPU so that playback is smooth.

You can put the tv headon on to raspbian os and still do other things with raspbian. The tv headon is just a service, not a whole image.
you mean tvheadEND ?
Yes, sorry.

The problem with a Pi is the memory. Chromium eats memory quickly. Evening just opening gmail takes 400 mb ram. And thats one tab.

DarkPlatinum, I've told everyone I know to wait to buy a Pi 4 rather than a 3B+ Why? You did them a disservice. If the Pi 4 does not come out for another year they will be wasting a year waiting. Missing out on a lot of fun and learning opportunities. Not getting stuff done that they could get done...
