Re: BBC Micro emulator running Elite

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but did anyone compile B-Em for dispmanx in the end?

At the moment I can only run it through X, which is not ideal! I like to run it in the console if possible.

Re: 8-bit Elite on the RPi - the most *playable* way?

Actually, to properly get things running fast enough you should compile B-Em and run it in a terminal on the Desktop. It's a lot faster than Beebem in this environment. The reason for this is neither Beebem nor B-Em work quite right in the console as at the moment you can't seem to be able to change...

Re: Ideal screen for portable SNES emulation system?

I'm using an adafruit pitft 3.5

Here are a couple of videos:

The first is before I optimised the refresh rate

https://youtu.be/LD7EBjPmyk4

There's a little bit of input lag but it's nothing terrible, certainly perfectly playable.

Re: 8-bit Elite on the RPi - the most *playable* way?

I'm using Beebem, which I've set up to run under RetroPie through Emulationstation. It's works brilliantly framerate-wise with no issues with keyboard controls. Joystick is a terrible way to play Beeb Elite in my opinion! Beebem allows me to emulate a Tube equipped Master as well do I can run all th...

That Tft looks v similar to the adafruit pitft 3.5.

Have you tried their install instructions to see if they work with your screen?

Re: uae4all2 (Amiga emulator)

If it doesn't work you may need to install sdl.

This can be done from the console by entering:

sudo apt-get install libguichan-sdl-0.8.1-1

followed by:

sudo apt-get install libguichan-0.8.1-1

Reboot RetroPie and try uae4all again.

Re: uae4all2 (Amiga emulator)

To get the Chips version of uae4all2 to work, assuiming you are user "pi" and are using Retropie 3.0, do the following: Download version 0_5 from Chips' website and use something like WinSCP to easily copy it into /opt/retropie/emulators/uae4all/ Use ssh or the rpi console to navigate to the /opt/re...

Re: Performance of TFT Display 320 x 480 using emulators

I finally had chance to get this working. In my opinion it's fine on a 480x320 pitft, certainly on my 1ghz RPi 2. Snes and Amiga games appear to render with no issue.

Chips, any thoughts on implementing JIT? It appears a chap on English Amiga Boards has done it with PUAE.

Re: Native Acorn Archimedes games on the Raspberry Pi!!!

I managed to get Conqueror working. I can move the tank around but can't figure out the keys to move the turret. Strangely it's not as pretty as Zarch (less colours?) considering it came out afterwards. Did you manage to get Zarch running under arcem? I found that I had to ensure everything was sel...

Re: UAE4ALL2 : Amiga 500 & 1200 emulator with DispmanX

Chips, is there any chance of getting a version where selection of higher MHz are available, beyond 14 and 28mhz? I believe the latest Pandora versions of uae4all2 offer this. I'd like to get Alien Breed 3D II running quicker but a 28mhz 020 just doesn't cut it! It's done in my internal version... ...

Re: RetoPie: in-game hot keys not working

Try holding select on your joypad whilst pressing a key.

If controller autodetect is enable in retroarch.cfg then you can only use certain keyboard functions without enabling the hotkey on the joypad, which is normally select. Turn controller autodetect off and the keyboard should function normally.

For people struggling to get mslug3 running and no sound in 4 or 5, read on: Mslug3 - rename the zip file to mslug3n.zip. Google "neo geo bios" and download the 1.5MB file linked. Move all the files in this zip into the mslug3n.zip file. Copy the file into your roms directory. It should now work. Ms...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Ok, I'll have a go at reinstalling as user pi.

Will it then be a case of simply copying back my roms, bios and configs directories? I've made backups of those onto a PC and its a simple matter to winscp them back into their correct positions.
