Re: Updating - again - Hotword etc

Hi, 1. My install doesn't have a trigger file for ok_google. Probably because the code has been restructured /src/main.py has been amended to # The ok-google trigger is handled with the Assistant Library, so we need # to catch this case early. if args.trigger == 'ok-google': scoots off to do ok-goog...

Re: AIY

1. Assuming you have the necessary wifi adapter for your zero - the AIY kit will work with your zero. The only difference in putting it together is that you don't use the two plastic standoffs. You use exactly the same image - but you will have to cut a slot in the cardboard box for the power cable ...

Re: She won't listen to me - Microphone dies with bluetooth

Hi, I assume your using MPD which your controlling with MPC,. The reason it will play to the cardboard box speaker will almost certainly be that your mpd config reflects that audio output is to go to an ALSA output. That will happen if in /etc/mpd.conf you have an section that looks something like t...

Re: Updating - again - Hotword etc

I've updated to a Pi 3 this morning and I've set the trigger to ok-google. It works exceedingly well . BUT Normally I say good morning and it responds saying hello, tells me the time and weather and what my commute is to get home (i understand why it tells me about my commute even though I am in my ...

Hotword triggering and Playing Music

I get the impression that quite a few people play music thru their AIY. Can you use hotword triggering whilst music is playing - can the microphone "hear" the "hey google" trigger over whatever is coming out of the speaker an inch away? @eduncan911 says you can only have one trigger so it doesn't se...

Updating - again - Hotword etc

The blog post http://eduncan911.com/stem/embedded/aiy-google-assistant-upgrades-may-2017.html has been updated with revised assistance regarding how to update your AIY software. Some people like me don't know how to do that. (For background see https://github.com/google/aiyprojects-raspbian/issues/7...

Re: Paired questions - voice commands

The assistant deals with this in a different order. 1. You press the button and when the assistant is listening you say "my favourite food is steak" - the assistant replies that "it" will remember that. 2. You activate it again and ask "what is my favourite food". The assistant will reply "you told ...

Swapover Pi W to Pi 3

Hi,
I am running on a Pi W. I've ordered a Pi 3 (i eventually want to use the google assistant sdk for armv7 that supports hotword),

Can I simply take my SD card out of the Pi W and put it in the Pi 3 or is it not as straightforward as that?

Thank You

Re: Best/Correct way to get updates from google github

Before you do anything - copy any files that you have amended - such as action.py to a different location temporarily such as /home/pi/ otherwise you will lose your own commands/actions. Once you do update you will probably get failures unless you run the following script /home/pi/voice-recognizer-r...

Re: Which Pi models are compatible?

Simon, The google image used a google assistant compatible with armv6. So it worked on lots of pi's including the zero and W. I have mine running on a W. Two weeks later they released an armv7 version which will not work on the zero/W. The version your trying to install via pip is the armv7 version ...

Won't be using "AIY" as a music player until someone comes up with how to graft another DAC onto the voice hat to provide stereo. It has been done https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=184438&p=1166736&hilit=stereo#p1166736 Mine ordered yesterday arrive today from Pimoroni TerryR...

Re: Radio AIY: VLC or MPD/MPC

If what you want is to listen to a few radio stations - why not backup your SD card and then start with VLC which I would say has more support of this forum and if it meets your needs - your done.

If you don't like it - you can give MPD/MPC a whirl.

Re: src/main.py giving error

I would guess that your button isn't wired up correctly. If you open the lid of your cardboard box you will be able to see the google circuit board. Next to the two connectors with loads of wire coming out of them is a little button. Press it with something inert such as a pencil - that button has t...

Hi, Not sure whether your objective is to use the example command or to get your script launched and the assistant to return back to a steady state. I have had my AIY running python scripts using this method class Invoke(object): def __init__(self, say, keyword): self.say = say self.keyword = keywor...
