Re: AIY Microphone barely working

Hey Protorabbit. Did you happen to get a replacement kit? I sent mine about the weeks ago and haven't got one back yet. Google also stopped emailing about a will also saying they would've thought I would have one by now... Hi When I wrote to them about my microphone being bust it was about 4 weeks ...

Re: AIY-box "broke" since adding shutdown-command

Hi, That's very fixable. There are two kinds of update: 1. Where you do sudo apt-get update followed by sudo apt-get upgrade or sudo apt-get dist upgrade. These statements are updating the operating system - Debian version Jessie. Those updates have very little to do with your AIY box. 2. Updating t...

No you don't need cloud billing for either of those commands. Haven't set it up on my box If you haven't amended the action.py they should look like this - starting at line 283. # ========================================= # Makers! Add your own voice commands here. # ================================...

Re: 433mhz Transmitter stopped working?

I was having issues with the same outlets and i discovered that if I followed "https://timleland.com/wireless-power-outlets/" that the sniffer not only gave me the relevant outlet code but it also gave me the pulse. I used the corresponding codesend and specified the code and the pulse and hey prest...

Re: Just use the voice hat as a speaker?

the short answer is 1. You can add an IR receiver to the raspberry PI - it will use use the Voice Hat's GPIO pins for power and data. Example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Keyes-IR-Detector-Module-KY-048-Receiver-20cm-Infrared-Arduino-Pi-Flux-Workshop-/122018570411?hash=item1c68dfa0ab:g:-f4AAOSwepJXZAYq...

Update the Google Voice Hat as per @Ryarg's post using the guidance in eric duncan's blog After you've done that it is the usual: sudo apt-get update then: sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Once you have done the dist upgrade (and got your wallpaper back if you lose it) you may want to have a look at https:...

Re: How to move the credentials.json file ?

Hi, Assuming you are logged into the box and have opened a terminal window 1. type "cd /home/pi/Downloads" that will change you into the relevant directory 2. type "ls" this will list the contents of the Dowloads directory 3. Assuming you can see your credential file - lets pretend it is called "cre...

AIY and Jessie Updates

Hi, 1. The AIY software has been updated to use SOX to playback non google cloud api phrases. It no longer sounds like a distorted robot. It sounds great (if a little louder than the google cloud voice) 2. There is a new distribution of Jessie. After applying - I lost the AIY wallpaper. Haven't been...

Re: No audio VoiceHAT Zero W

Hi, I ran the AIY on a W for a month - it definitely works on the W - I eventually got another Pi 3 and simply lifted the hat off the W put it on the pi3 and took the SD card out of the W and put it in the Pi3 and it worked. I've suffered problems with hats and poorly soldered headers on the W. - Up...

Re: Google Voice AIY kit box thing isn't sure where I am.

It is frustrating. Ask the box "where do I live" and you will probably find it tells you your exact address - it does for me - my google account has my address. If I ask it for my nearest petrol station it gets it right. If I say to it good morning it tells me the weather for the town I live in - th...

IR Receiver - Activity Led

I am wiring an IR receiver to my PI which is very simple. The circuit looks like this (the resistor and capacitor are there to smooth our the power supply.

I want to add an activity led to that circuit - that flashes when the receiver is activated. Does anyone know how?

Timers work for me only if I'm using the hotword trigger. If I use the pushbutton trigger, the assistant replies that it has started the timer.
