Re: Latest Version - has anyone managed to implement actions

@divx118 I tried your code fragment which works and as you identified the wait is an issue. So I put the following into a file "pretender.py" import RPi.GPIO as GPIO from time import sleep GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) GPIO.setwarnings(False) while True: GPIO.setup(23, GPIO.OUT) sleep(1) and then kicked o...

Re: Latest Version - has anyone managed to implement actions

I've assumed without going back and reading your original post that you did this cd ~/voice-recognizer-raspi git checkout master git pull origin master When you did so, you brought from the master repo files such as src/action.py which are not part of the new version. The new repo is on a different ...

Re: Latest Version - has anyone managed to implement actions

@divx118 Must admit that I never looked at the grpc demo. I have SD cards for both versions. I use my AIY kit more or less exclusively for controlling stuff in my home and getting information such as the temperature etc from sensors placed inside and out - I always use the hotword trigger. I will g...

Re: Latest Version - has anyone managed to implement actions

I read your post the other day regarding how you managed to get your aiyprojects-2017-09-11.img "working". What you really did was clone the "existing" master branch of the software using Eric Duncan's post on how to update the master version of the repo. You then installed it. In effect your not ru...

Re: Google AIY - Different search results from different triggers

It's all to do with different software being called depending upon which trigger you use. You will find previous posts on the behavioural differences/results depending upon trigger. The timers are tied in the ok google trigger which calls the google assistant sdk

Re: Latest Version - has anyone managed to implement actions

I couldn't agree more - I am really reluctant to spend effort on the current codebase without knowing that it can be converted. Having said that if you look at this pull request from the magpi editor https://github.com/google/aiyprojects-raspbian/pull/137 it gives an example using cloudspeech. That ...

Voice Control TIVO box

I've been doing a lot of stuff with a home automation platform called HOME ASSISTANT and my AIY box. I stumbled across a post the other day about controlling your TIVO box using telnet commands. Pretty sure I haven't seen a post on here about this. That post is https://community.home-assistant.io/t/...

Latest Version - has anyone managed to implement actions

There are now two versions of the AIY software 1. The original software that we used when the AIY box was first released 2. A new version that is radically different - that's the version you get if you download the latest image.( and has already caused much confusion) src/action.py doesn't exist in ...

Re: Troubles with setting sound trigger

The config file exists in 2 places. Have you amended the instance that lives in the /home/pi/.config/ directory (which is hidden) . Also use aplay to make sure the system likes your sound file.

Re: main.py gives error. Possible audio issue.

At the end of last week the some changes were merged into the AIY repo that resulted in the Check Audio script failing. See this issue https://github.com/google/aiyprojects-r ... issues/110 The traceback is the same as yours.

Hi, you need a 4 ohm speaker handling at least 3 watts with dimensions of 77mm square and circa 25mm depth. So 1. https://thepihut.com/products/adafruit-speaker-3-diameter-4-ohm-3-watt 2. https://www.modmypi.com/adafruit-industries/components-and-parts/speakers/speaker-3-diameter-4-ohm-3-watt 3. htt...

Re: AIY Voice Kit with Snowboy (Without HAT)

It wouldn't be high on my list of priorities. I'm fine with saying hey google - even though we call it Wilma (yep as in the flintstones). I'm busy building a board for my AIY box that will hang off the side where the SD slides in. Currently its got a bunch load of sensors, for temp, light, pressure,...

Re: AIY Voice Kit with Snowboy (Withou HAT)

I did have it working on a Pi W with the AIY kit a couple of months back. I remember following http://docs.kitt.ai/snowboy/ I did find it picked up a lot of false positives and after 10 minutes reverted to the original image and went back to pressing the button. there is also a youtube vid that migh...
