Re: Is overclocking safe ?

After selecting Turbo which is the max there is no significant improvement in performance.

Application launch time is the same.

Re: Is overclocking safe ?

Stick it on max, if it doesn't boot, drop down a level. By max do you mean Turbo ? If it fails to boot how do I drop down a level ? Feeling nervous. Before getting into overclocking...what model of Pi are you using? If it's anything prior to a Pi2B, you may be better off by just buying a current PI...

Is overclocking safe ?

Hi, I use a Raspberry Pi as my daily driver. Frankly it runs a bit slow. When loading web pages CPU usage shoots up to 100%. Same when launching apps. I see there is an option to overclock the Pi under raspi-config. So my question is if I overclock the Pi will it reduce its life ? Is it safe to over...

Re: USB to SATA

Probably. I use https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015N5JO9E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with an SSD on a Pi. You could ask a question on the Amazon page about linux / Pi compatibility. The seller has answered a question himself in the past: http://www.amazon.in/forum/-/TxIPVYHPLR...

Stretch is a Testing Release, could be why you are having issues, it is not yet ready for prime time
Okay I will wait for the dependency to reach the repos.

What happens if you try to install the packages manually? # apt-get install gstreamer1.0-plugins-good libgstreamer-plugins-bad1.0-0 It may be that another upgraded package that they depend on hasn't been pushed to the repositories yet. # apt-get install gstreamer1.0-plugins-good libgstreamer-plugin...

Re: Wrong keyboard layout on login screen

klricks wrote:The GUI keyboard setting tool does not work for the CLI.
For that you need to run the keyboard setup in:

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config
Then reboot.
I have already set my keyboard layout using raspi-config but its not working on the cli.

Wrong keyboard layout on login screen

Hi,
When I am in the gui my keyboard works perfectly but when I type on the login screen every thing goes haywire.

c prints x
p prints b
y prints r
o prints y
5 prints J

The same thing happens when I am in other runlevels.

Locale is set correctly. As I said all works well when I am in the gui.

Re: Cant enable spell check in MIdori

Midori is a piece of old junk that is built on a buggy/un-maintained webkit. Chromium on RPi2 & RPi3 (as long as you don't run hundreds of tabs) is good for most web pages. The biggest problem is bloated websites and cpu heavy things like flash. The only problem with Chromium is that I cant browse ...
