Re: Where are we?

My boss just asked me if I was willing to work Christmas. So will RasPi ship by then? Or should I work Xmas, and have the New Year off to play with it?

Just spent an hour tearing apart all my stuff - set top boxes, Bluetooth rx, WiFi, router, &c. - to look for Broadcom chips. Now half of them don't work.

Re: I?m puzzled

I was going to use the Crazy Frog ...
Just had a look ... Broadcom silk-screened on the board. Can't read what's on the RAM.
Still ... how can Broadcom leverage this into more sales to phone-makers? Which phone should I buy to help this?

I am also grateful to Broadcom for allowing this to happen.<br/> As a side note, on ...

Re: I?m puzzled

<t>Does it matter if there is a commercial undertone? I think it does - in fact there must be! No company can do anything without a positive effect on its shareholers' pockets - it only exists to line its shareholders' pockets. So in the supermarkets case I, the customer, can influence the companies...

<t>I take your point(s), but how does "good press" work? Does Nokia / Samsung / Motorola say to themselves "We like them for supporting Raspberry Pi so we'll use their chips"? Re: TV-Tuner/Capture

<t>Why more than one tuner on the RasPi? Surely you could have one RasPi per tuner, feeding a NAS?<br/> Then you can record as many channels as you want (as long as the bandwidth of the network feeding the NAS can handle it)<br/> This is just an inversion of the problem - we're trying to use the Ras...

Re: USB Device Mode

Is the PCB the same between A & B? Earlier I understood they were different, to the extent of 4 / 6 layers. If they're the same it would make Christmas more fun (fires up the surface-mount rework station) Do we yet know if the connectors are still all through hole?

Beginning of November now 20 days, end of Nov 49 days, but end of December another 31 days!
HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT?!?
