Re: arduino wifi help

thanks for the response .. I was referring to when I do apt-get install arduino it installs 2.1.05? which does not have the board manager ... I did not see this version on the arduino site ... so I was inquiring about the reason for this version vs. the standard ones I see on the site.. i.e. 1.6x an...

Re: arduino wifi help

Is there a reason why the standard Arduino IDE that comes on the raspi desktop is v2.x and not the 1.8.x version with the board manager?? The v2.x IDE seems more limited.

Re: esp8266 loading sketch from pi

I reconnected to USB1 and then I clicked on upload . it worked .. after load completed I took power off removed ground an...

esp8266 loading sketch from pi

Hello, I've been able to use the raspberry pi and the Arduino 1.8.2 code to load the Adafruit HuZZAH throught the usb connection with my sketch. Next I bought a much lower priced ESP8266 board without the usb connection and I am trying to load it with the usb to serial connection from the pi using a...

Cayenne security

Hello, I just installed the cayenne app on my iPad air2. Then I had it locate all the PIs on my local network. Then it asked if I wanted to install the agent software on the selected pi.. it did! How did that happen without me giving it an ID and password? Isn't that a security issue? I used the rem...

Re: Meet Raspberry Pi Zero: the $5 computer

The case design will have to take that into account. The magpi case is flush with the card so it can't be easily changed without taking the pi0 out of the case..I was just curious.. Thanks for the prompt answer..

Re: Meet Raspberry Pi Zero: the $5 computer

is the micro sd card holder different on the pi0? The other pis seem to have a spring to them .. so if you push in the card pops out. On the pi0 it has to be pulled out. If it is different was there a reason for this .. or maybe it is just my specific card that I have observed this.
thanks

I have a python script in a @reboot user crontab. Hello, I have a sensehat and I've implemented the center button to shutdown.. I was doing this so that I can run it headless and turn it off so that I don't mess up the sd card.. My problem now is that it works fine when I run it from a terminal but when I run it from my use crontab it quits. There ...

Re: Temperature Value Shown on LEDs

I think you want the last message to use the pressure variable? also the temp on my sensehat seems about 15% high in relation to the ambient temp .. so I just took 85% of it .. I wonder if there is a better way to get ambient temp.. I imagine the leds and the processor throw the temp sensor off .. t...

Re: NOOBS 1_4_0 on RPi 2ModB -- No Joy. Success, anyone?

another interesting observation is that I had a samsung and a microcenter micro sd. I imaged the microcenter sd and when I tried to restore it to the "same size" 8GB samsung sd it would not fit. Then I took another blank microcenter sd and it worked fine... so it appears that the size is slightly di...

I downloaded noobs 1.4.1 and then simply asked for arch linux from the panel after putting noobs on an sd card in windows. It had to download the arch image from somewhere I guess since it was not on the noobs image I got. note that the python, gcc are not there but install under their normal names....
