Re: [Tutorial] Using the RasPi as a WiFi hostspot (8 Nov 12)

I've had good luck with the tenda model w311m mini 11n wireless usb adapter. I've been able to run it on the pi's usb port without a powered hub... it will run in AP mode but only 150mbps. the price was $10 for me at micro center ..it's been that way for 2 months now.. must be wanting to dump outmod...

Glad to see it is working for you .. I put the auto wlan0 in my interfaces file .. but my installation is not consistent .. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't .. by careful examination of the log i found that for some reason when it fails I don't get Starting DSN forwarder and DHCP server: ...

Re: [Tutorial] Using the RasPi as a WiFi hostspot (8 Nov 12)

could someone PLEASE answer this simple question.. I got the "hotspot" working .. then it didn't work after I shutdown and started up the pi. reboot was ok... what I discovered was that /etc/network/interfaces had to be changed in order for the system to reread it?? and then I would get my fixed add...

Re: Connecting RPi directly to PC ethernet port

first off I am a complete noob to networking.. but would it be possible to have dhcp server running on the pi so that if I connect it directly to a pc linux/windows etc .. the pi would "serve" an address dynamically and no configuration would be necessary on the pi or the computer?? If I plugged it ...

Re: Nokia Pi LCD

well micro center had 2n3906 pnp transistors .. so I tried that .. now i used physical pin 11 gpio 17 or wiring pi 0 .. hello,
@346337 raspian 3.2.27
I am running headless .. so I figured openbox would be less overhead than

with it under Lxde and tightvncserver .. anyone have any ideas?
thanks..

omxplayer configure to small 3"x3" box

hello, @346337/raspian 3.2.27+ this may seem like an odd request but I listen to music videos .. I like the music more than the video and since omxplayer currently takes over the whole desktop I was wondering if it is possible to have it only use say a 3x3 or 2x2 box in the upper right corner of the...

Re: Overclocking

thanks for the clarification of the parms..
however.. I have gpu_freq=300 and it comes back as zero
and gpu_mem is unknown? I have it set to 64
I could see maybe the program does not do gpu stuff but it does recognize the gpu_freq parm but returns zero ..

hello,
when I use vcgencmd get_config
I was expecting to see my current config ..
but all that came back was:

does anyone know what the operands do?
and how do you list the config with vcgencmd?
