Re: Collecting data periodically from multiple Bluetooth (BLE) devices

Watching with interest.. My own BLE sensors are queried sequentially but the Node red flows built early 2018 using a couple of user contributed nodes fail when installed on a freshly installed updated system!!

Re: Remote control of networked Pi's

Check out node red as a tool to distribute and respond to mqtt publications on your pi es.. its got a nice drag n drop gui interface that lets you build your system logic into execution flows, it can take a bit of 'getting the hang of' but is well packaged with good learning resources on the nodered...

Re: Need help mapping out multiple things to Raspberry Pi

Just a thought or 2,, if using an ultrasonic mister it probably uses an AC psu powered by mains power. for such a device you may find it a lot easier to use an off the shelf smart wifi power socket to turn on/off as you can mod many of these to respond to wifi/mqtt commands issued directly from your...

As i find it easy to use dupont wires to connect up Pi/sbc dev boards to modular sensors and components i tend to make bus bars for 5v 3.3v and gnd inside my project boxes made from strips of male header pins with the bottoms all soldered together, wrapping the short legs with some stripped stranded...

the keyword for your searches is 'FTP' for File Transfer Protocol.
depends on if you want the pc or Pi to steer.

Re: How do i display incoming serial data on 20x4lcd?

Find a couple of basic example projects 1 using a 20x4 lcd display, and another that reads serial input. Python projects and examples would probably be the easiest to find and follow. Ypu may find something VERY close to what you want too ;) With 2 x example projects you can study and learn how the ...

anything you install to run as a service will by definition will require some processing power to start and set up, what it does while not responding to requests may or may not require additional time/power to execute depending on just what it is. A home automation server will no doubt gather and re...

Bluetooth provides a couple of communication methods, probably the easiest to use is serial over bluetooth connection. This came up searching for the keywords 'arduino bluetooth serial pi' http://www.uugear.com/portfolio/bluetooth-communication-between-raspberry-pi-and-arduino/ check the arduino lib...

the ground is the common negative terminal for all your gpio circuitry.

you ensure that you have a common ground reference when using power from different sources for your pi and any devices it controls by connecting all the grounds together .

When in doubt ask..

Look to use MQTT passing a simple message from the control Pi to the remote ones. When the remote Pi get a play command, run the light show. http://www.steves-internet-guide.com/ has lots of details on MQTT I was just about to say the same, you can write scripts to publish and subscribe to the rele...

Did you try running with sudo as suggested? that is prefixing the command to run your script with sudo *Super User DO"?

its easier to read if you cut and paste text into either a quote or code block in your posts, photo's of screens are tricky to read.. and code as message text doesn't stand out.
