Toshiba Exceria: 12:34:32-13:16:11 = 41:39 (write 20Mb/s, read 26,7Mb/s can't overclock)
EVO+: 14:03:43-14:20:24 = 16:41 (100MHz)

mount /var/cache/apt to one net share
and do not run the update two or more rPI's at the same time

PS You can use USB storage, and mount it to /var/cache/apt than need update next rPI

I think your SD is very slow

You can try my optimized image
(zram/zswap + tmpfs for caches/temp folders)

PS image is Russian, but you can change local with raspi-config or configuration

я б сделал так:
посмотрел какие файлы малина создаёт в профиле при первом запуске,
и убивал бы их до загрузки иксов (выборочно)

и тогда при каждой загрузке файлы будут как при первом запуске...

becouse then write 4kb file, SD controler read 4mb -> mask 4k new data -> write 4mb
