Re: Toshiba USB HDD not working!

I haven't tried using the powered hub on the laptop because it works fine through on board USB. I wouldn't think that I needed to run a powered hub off of the laptop if it has no problem powering USB drives. I will try later and report back. I am fine with running it smb right now but I was just wo...

It's already in raspbmc's list of plugins, you can install / activate it from video add-ons menu

There's an example for the use of buttons with the ATmega in the Gertboard manual (p 33-34).

Links for Gertboard docs can be found here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 42&t=20410

Just did rpi-update but the problem persists.

Re: Increment environmental variables in bash script

I understand that a standard variable will not survive after the script is stopped, but I would have expected that a global env. variable would. At least this is what I understood from this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1464253/global-environment-variables-in-a-shell-script Did you run y...

Re: HDMI to VGA convert adapter. Will this work?

I'm using this kind of device (bought off Amazon) without problems. An alternative would be a monitor with a DVI-D (Digital, not DVI-Analog!) input. You can use an even cheaper adapter. I use one of these too with a second hand TFT screen. See also http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#Display_a...

Re: Impossible to upgrade the free pascal compiler on raspbi

You should not compile main.pp directly. Just do a 'make all' or 'make clean all'
It might be time to get the 512Mb pi.
That's exactly what I did a couple of weeks ago :)

Re: Impossible to upgrade the free pascal compiler on raspbi

Freepascal trunk should work on raspbian though if bootstrapped with the compiler from the raspbian repositories. It does. I installed fpc 2.6 from the raspbian repository and built fpc trunk, then used fpc trunk to build lazarus trunk. The only problem I had was building lazarus on a 256MB pi. IIR...

Re: Can not boot, today.

Looks as if the SD card is corrupted. Did you select overclocking (turbo mode) when you used the Pi the first time after flashing? That is the most common cause of card corruption.

If that's the case then I would try running the Pi at standard speed for a while.

Re: External HDD connection problem

It's probably not only unmounting all the time, but it's actually disconnected / connected from the USB port. You can check that in the system log (using dmesg).

Did you plug the HD directly in the Pi? If yes than try using a powered hub.

suspend and standby don't have any meaning on a Pi, so I'm not surprised that they take you straight back to the menu (BTW: RaspBMC does not offer these options, only shutdown and reboot).

I'm using the iPlayer plugin on my raspbmc pi and it works fine. I assume you can use it in any XBMC distro.

You can only use the live stream option (that includes seven day catch up); It does not give you the option to download and save programmes.
