Re: CIFS mount not working on Buster

Any suggestions?
reboot your Pi.

Notice that you're still running 4.19.50 but the 'find' sees the files in 4.19.57
I think new kernel was installed in the last update/upgrade and you did not boot your Pi after that.

Re: Desktop preferences not saving changes on RPi4 with Buster

Does your SD card retain *any* changes?
Create e.g. a new text file in your home directory, then reboot.
Is the file still there with the same contents?

Re: SLURM enabled but not starting

Well, that's not very informative...
You could try to start the program manually (on the command line) and see what the output is.
Or maybe it creates a log file?

So did you follow the advice in the messages (i.e. check the status to get more details)?
And please post text instead of screenshots.

That looks like a 3RD party reseller https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/node/2323029031?_encoding=UTF8&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Raspberry%20Pi&ref_=bl_dp_s_mw_2323029031 Nope, you're looking in the wrong place. the 'by' entry is *not* the seller. Re: When does Amazon recieve the new Raspberry Pi's?

So all Pi stuff will be third party. Most of it, yes. But they also sell Pi themselves: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07BDR5PDW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1 Dispatched from and sold by Amazon. I assume they just buy from Element14 as other (non-official) resellers would do.

Re: Can't access package outside virtual environment from inside of virtual environment

Which virtual environment software do you use?

I use virtualenv and it has the option to use globally installed modules.
Can't remember the exact option though.

I wouldn't be surprised if other packages offer the same functionality

Buster was just released it went from "testing" to "stabe".
I think you just need to do an "apt upgrade" and answer yes to change the release type.

Code: Select all

apt update

Yes but not all Pi4 are having the issue.... weird.... What issue? You're asking the Pi to reboot and that's exactly what it does... even sudo shutdown -h now ..??? it also reboots. or using Pi Gui (startx) when you shutdown, it reboots.... You seemed to be surprised that '-r' reboots the system an...

In this forum there is instructions how to fix that, but i want to wait when what ever causes this is updated, Raspbian?, and then install latest NOOBS/Raspbian so wizard update finishes correctly. As I said: there will be no NOOBS update that will fix your problem. A newer version will *reinstall*...

You did save dhcpcd.conf file before rebooting?
+1
also make sure it was actually saved as you need admin rights to do that.

When NOOBS 3.1.1
Once NOOBS is installed it is never automatically updated.
NB: NOOBS is just the OS installer / selection program.
Are you actually referring to Raspbian? If that's the case then you have to post the command you're issuing and the *full* error message.

AFAIK at the moment the Pi store in Cambridge is the only retail outlet.
Another option may be the RS trade counter in one of their warehouses.
