I think it would just be cool to give one to NASA to take with them to the Space Station.

Re: USB, Keyboard, Network problems with Debian beta and 4 P

I think I've sorted things on my end, at least in console (lxde is another story). It all seems to revolve around a plethora of buggy USB keyboard combinations, but finally found one that works like a champ, and couldn't be more happy about which one it is! Trusty IBM Model-M (1984) w/SDL socket htt...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

Update about my source for a lapdock mentioned here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=109656#p109656 It seems I'll be RMAing the first one for exchange. Condition looked great but plugged it in to charge and it appears the battery swelled and separated the palmrest case plastics (in...

Nice. Have had the thought to do this, but was too lazy or distracted by other things. It's definitely worthy to display on little baby LCDs or digitized LED displays for those playing with such hardware too.

I didn't see anything about only one guess. Does it count if we write a script to email you consecutive guesses via an anonymous smtp server? Ignoring the anonymous part surely someone has started doing this already knowing the crowd here? I already have one, will let someone else flood your mailbox.

Re: Share laptops internet connection with pi.

My experiences... I just did this as an alternative to "just wireless via unstable cards/hubs" for headless operation when out and about. Having wireless drop for unknown reasons and having to do a hot-reboot was getting annoying. It also frees up a USB port. It also works at cafes where they have a...

Very nice reuse of the provided material. :-)

Improvement idea... Clear 3M style tape, so you can label the pockets with a sharpie, but have the option to wipe with alcohol to re-label.

This is one neat little trick. Too bad the larger photo frames tend to run off memory cards instead of direct USB transfers to internal memory. *clicks the "watch thread" button*

I would love to hear more about this. Maybe SD card? I'm having the exact same issues... things felt "kinda" stable for a while... but seems to be getting worse if that's possible?

an apt-get update just hung my system... no panic message on screen but completely unresponsive.

Re: cheap uninterruptible power supply for r-pi?

I've now found that when the battery approaches full charge, bizarrely it causes the Pi to reboot. Good to know. I would speculate there is some subtle difference in how it provides power to the usb connector depending on modes "charging" vs "full", briefly dropping power when switching, or just ca...

Re: Blind ssh connectin a problem

In my personal opinion, as often as I use the Pi in headless mode, I don't feel a default static IP would be any "easier" for most novice users. They'd still have to configure their client computer to be on the proper subnet and mask before they could "see" the Pi on the network. This is something m...

Re: Controlling Pi via direct connection to Linux laptop

Many Ethernet adaptors nowadays support Auto-MDIX so you might be able to use a regular ethernet cable rather than a specific crossover cable.
Now that's nice to know!
