cross compiling on amd64 takes less then a minute, on the pi i think it takes quite a bit longer

Hello, I have a RaspberryPi that works seamlessly with Raspbian "wheezy". But with android 2 or 4 (gingerbread image) keeps crashing too, is very slow, can not even move. Not exactly what you want, but you should look at arch Linux, its basically a completely stripped down system that you can completely configure from the base up

Have you plugged it directly into the Pi or in a powered usb hub? The first option could (will) cause a too high current draw from your Pi. Directly into the Pi.
