Re: Xbox one controller setup

Okay, you should be able to have this command after installing:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install software-properties-common python-software-properties

Re: Writing to gpio

From bash command line you can simply do:

Code: Select all

echo "5" > /sys/class/gpio/export
echo "out" > /sys/class/gpio/gpio5/direction
echo "1" > /sys/class/gpio/gpio5/value
Ofcourse, adjust parameters such as GPIO pin number as you wish ;)

/sys is your interface between the kernel

Re: alter the shutdown and reboot sequence to shutdown the lcd

If you can control your LCD programatically then you could add a script to turn it off from within systemd. If you'd put the script in the location below:

Code: Select all

/lib/systemd/system-shutdown/
Then systemd would turn it off at the very end of the shutdown sequence. ;)

Re: Proper way to terminate subprocess

The reason you can't terminate your subprocess inside the elif statement is because it doesn't exist

Re: [Tutorial]Use Facebook to control your Raspberry Pi term

Nice. This is very timely information. I was just starting to think about something along these lines for an aging relative. We've just set them up on FB Messenger to chat with various family members - but it takes an age to start up their laptop. I was wondering how difficult it would be to do thi...

[Tutorial] Stream live videos from your Pi on the internet

The tutorial in the link below shows how to stream live videos using MJPG-streamer. This has been discussed quite a few times already. My tutorial however shows how to stream your videos outside of your local network. In the end you'll have a live video stream that can be accessed from anywhere. Che...

You can use MJPG-streamer library to stream live videos. Combined with http://www.dataplicity.com you'll easily be able to access it from anywhere you want.

Re: remote access to Pi

You can do it without worrying about topology or firewalls. What you'll have to do to achieve that is to: 1. Write or find a server script that will serve your videos through port 80 on your Raspberry Pi. 2. Create a simple webpage interface for downloading your videos. 2. Enable "Wormhole" in your ...
